Title : Score
Author : DiBee
Summary : Jack, Sam and-minus Cassandra, versus Big Bad Spider. Os Humour/Friendship
Disclaimer : Nothing's mine, no money gotten from it.
Spoiler : None, just consider Cassie happens to be at Sam's house (either as her ward, or whatever, it doesn't matter here) and so does Jack (for the ship, hip hip hip, Hurrah! For non shippers, can be read safely as well ;)
Rating : K+, for the totally non graphic description of what doesn't really happen to the spider, and one Air Force Officer stuck somewhere unpleasant (really not what you think^^)
Author Note : Just me, my mad brain, and terrible headache muttering something about spiders. Oh, and English still isn't my first language, and all mistakes are my property, but feel free to take them away if you'd like=)
« Saaaaaaaaaaam. » The high-pitched voice was coming from the living room, carrying along more annoyance than fear, really. Or at least that is what Cassandra would pretend when asked about the incident later on.
« Yeah, Cass, what's going on? » Sam, who was trying her best to untangle herself from the hall's clothhanger that had had the good idea to fall over her when she had ran past it earlier, tried and repressed an exasperated sigh. She failed when she noticed, with her sole eye still able to see the slighest of thing out of the ton of clothing she was crawling under, Jack, watching her without seeming the least bit ready to help. No, she didn't like chivalry. But there was a big red line between chivalry and the help of a comrad surrounded by relentless foes.
« Erh, Sam, there is some sort of a giant spider in the middle of the living room. Not likely to get out of it any time soon unless someone does something against it. And I won't be that someone. »
There it was again, annoyance. Or was it?
« Well, Cass, I'm kinda stuck right now, why doesn't Jack help you with that? »
Sam's voice was dripping with sarcasm, though she couldn't help her smile at the simple way he was looking, okay, laughing, at her.
« Is that big bad spider cringing and metallic, Cass? »
« Nope, why, should it be? Don't you think I'll have thrown you inside and gotten up to lock myself in my room if it was? Seriously, Jack, not funny. »
« Well, if it's not Rep-thing, you can take care of it yourself. »
« Yeah, sure, what with, huh? »
« Just let me give Sam a hand, and we'll show you how. »
He did as said, pulling her up, they would have time to tidy it all up later on, and gestured for her to follow him in the next room
He took the nearest newspaper while Sam grasped the main 'network' of the spider, letting it hanging a dozen centimeters from her hand. They smiled knowingly, and both took a step toward the window.
« Wouldn't that be more effective if the window was open? » Cassie asked, quite taken aback at their move.
« Yeah, but what would be the fun of baseball-spider, then. »
« So, technically, you're calling a bat the newspaper you're holding. Which is yesterday's just so you know. » Sam added
« Well, yeah. »
« Let it be said that this is the first bat I see without wings. »
And with that she nodded, averting her face from his rapid movement toward the spider, suddenly sent flying in the direction of the window pane.
