So it's been a while since I've put up some writing as I've been super busy with uni all year. I have some stories do done they're just not edited. But I was able to get this one done. It comes before A Thousand words in the time line of my Egon and Janine fanfics. It is also an actual scene from the movie. Hope you enjoy :)
"Some. I just met the Keymaster. He's here with me now." Egon said to Venkman who was on the other end of the line.
Janine traced the strong line of his jaw with her eyes. He was so close. Didn't he realise how close he was? She could see the way his collarbone dipped underneath his dress shirt.
"I think that would be extremely dangerous. " Egon warned, turning his eyes towards her.
Janine felt her cheeks flush. Couldn't he see the longing that she was drowning in? He couldn't be that blind.
He was so close that she could just lean forward and press her lips to his. He wouldn't have any time to flinch away.
To her amazement he leaned in closer.
The smell of his aftershave was making her dizzy. Couldn't he see her reeling?
"We need to find Ray immediately." He said to her, his low baritone sending the butterflies in her stomach wild.
And then in an instant she saw it. That look he gave her on occasion. That deer in the headlights look.
He couldn't have just realised how closely they were sitting on the couch, could he? Janine watched with bated breath as his eyes glanced at her mouth before quickly flicking back to her eyes.
Egon's composure came back as quickly as it had left him. He slowly got up off the couch and cleared his throat. "I'll see if Ray is back yet. Watch Vinz."
He glanced over at the unstable man. "On second thought, you look for Ray. I'll watch him."
Trying to regain her usual demeanour Janine waltzed past him and made her way down the stairs. But not before turning back to steal one last look.
The tall man had melted into the couch and was running a hand through his hair. "What am I doing?" He murmured.
Egon looked up at Vinz and then hoisted himself off of the couch. "Come with me Vinz." He said in a tired voice.
When Vinz didn't follow Egon awkwardly dragged him by the arm towards the stairs. Janine quickly stole back to her desk before the scientist even knew she had been there.
