...
A Wicked Mind
...
To whom it may concern, my dear
I write this correspondence,
Unless this dear is of the other,
Not a fair one, but one of gents.
Read now my words and read them well
For I have till' morning's bell.
To tell my tale of treachery's past
And of a king who breathed his last.
A fair king was he, just and kind
But it came to pass that a wicked mind,
Sought to take him of his life,
His title, throne and his wife.
The poison in his brother's hand,
He came into his 'nevolant land.
And upon seeing his sleeping face,
Delivered the goods to take his place.
And after all was said and done,
Without a noise, no smoke, no gun,
The man that held this wicked mind
Resumed his role of brother kind.
He took his title and his wife,
Though no one knew he took a life.
So as king he ruled them all,
Until the day I knew he'd fall.
And fall he did by his brother's son
The battle fierce, the son had won.
But woe, his life there ended too
Not a soul else knew the truth,
And so I write this note to you
Of treachery's past and of the truth.
But now I must bid you adieu
The sun is up, my time is due.
Depart I go, I've spoke the truth.
But who am I? That's up to you.
