"Even you don't believe your excuses. So just leave us alone." Then in an instant, they were gone. Mystique's own two children, Nightcrawler and Rogue, had left her. They were right though, somewhat. She didn't REALLY believe what she was saying, but there was a little truth behind her pleas. She doesn't blame them for hating her, though. She traumitized Rogue for life. She wouldn't be surprised if Rogue never wanted to speak to her again. And Nightcrawler. If only he knew the truth of what happened that day. Mystique didn't want to give him up. She wanted to keep him, and raise him, and care for him like a mother should. But Magneto tried to kill him. Magneto. The one man she loved, betrayed her. Mystique took a second to reminence a memory.

Mystique was only about 15 years old. She woke up one morning for school. She figured this would just be another ordinary Monday. She got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. When she looked into the mirror, she was horrified. Blue skin, red hair, she just screamed. "Mom! Mom! Mom!" young Raven Darkholme yelled as she raced into her parents room. "What is it swee-...AHHHA!" her mother yelled, causing her father to wake up. "Mom! Dad! I'm blue! What is wrong with me?" Raven yelled, tears nearly falling from her eyes, but her parents didn't give her answer. "John, get your gun." Mrs. Darkholme told her husband.
Mr. Darkholme reached under the bed and grabbed a pistol and began shooting at his daughter. Raven was able to jump out of the way and headed towards the front door. She ran out screaming, causing some of the neighbors to wake up. Her father was hot on her tail, shooting at her. Raven was able to avoid the gunshots. The neighbors heard the havoc and tried helping Mr. Darkholme kill his mutant daughter. Raven was running when she tripped on a rock and fell down. Her father slowly walked up and aimed the gun right at her head. He pulled the trigger, and Raven thought she was dead. She heard the shot, but she wasn't hit. She opened her eyes to find the bullet floating right above her nose, just a millimeter away from her face. Just then, the bullet flew back and hit Mr. Darkholme in the face, killing him instantly. Next thing Raven knew, several cars began to float and they all began running into all the other neighbors and crushing them. Raven stood up and trying to run away again, but when she turned around she saw a man around 40 standing there. "Relax, darling. I'm not going to hurt you. I know what you're going through. I will help you. My name is Erik Lehnsherr"

Mystique couldn't believe what a mistake that was. The second she saw that man, she should've just ran away. Never stopping. Mystique didn't know what to do.
Her parents tried to kill her, the man she loved betrayed her, her own kids hate her, and her team left her, too. For the first time in nearly 15 years,
Mystique dropped to her knees and began crying her heart out. She remembered the last time she cried was when she first woke up and saw her blue self in the mirror. Deep down she was still that vulnerable little girl crying out for the help she never recieved. After about 10 minutes of crying, Mysique made up her mind. She turned into a bird and flew high into the sky, as high as she could possibly go. She was as high as airplanes fly, when she turned back into her normal form, and let herself fall...
