Its 10:00 at night and its raining out side.
Drops of water hit my face but its not from the rain.
I stare into your eyes and lift my hand to brush away your tears.
with barely a whisper I say,
"Shh, don't cry."
You start to cry even harder and I can feel the sobs rack your body.
My head is in your lap and your pressing on me trying to stop the bleeding.
The cold is taking over now and, you know that I am slipping.
You start to get mad and yell
"Don't leave, your not supposed to leave!"
You hit me to punctuate your words. You yell at me about how you don't want me to go and that you can't live with out me. That you finally just got me back. You lean over me again and mumble into my shoulder that your sorry it should have been you. With what little strength I have I tip your face up and kiss you. Then I break away and say
"Don't think that, I would never let anything happen to you, ever."
Now my tears start mixing with yours as I say
"Buffy, I love you, and don't worry ill still be with you bu-"
You cut me off knowing what im trying to do and, tell me to hang on for a little bit longer. That the ambulance is almost there and, that there is no need to say goodbye.
I know I wont make it till then because the only part of me that I can still feel is the part thats touching you. Everything else went numb.
I don't want to leave without you knowing so with everything I have left I reach into my coat pocket and pull out a box.
You see it and try and hold in your tears as I begin.
"Buffy, tonight was supposed to be night you would happily remember forever, not a page from shakespear's diary, I need you to know that I love you and that if tonight would have gone as planed I would have asked you to be mine forever. Now thats not possible, but I want you to have this to remember that you were once loved more than anything and that I want you to live for me."
You are crying silently now, I don't know how much more you have in you but they just keep coming. You take the box from me, open it and slip the ring onto your finger then say
"I will always be yours Angel, no matter what. Ring or no ring."
You bring your lips down to mine and kiss me. Both of us trying to convey all the emotions and love that we are feeling for that last kiss we share. You pull away and we lock eyes for what seems like forever. The night sky around you slowly starts to fade and the last thing I see is your eyes staring into mine, and your sweet voice whispering in my ear
"I love you, Angel, always and forever."
