I just finished rewatching Simoun, and the series is still epic. This is mostly weirdness conjecture and tends to ignore the other theories on Dominura and what becomes of her. Enjoy :]

Cape of Good Hope

And she's breaking. Just a bit, just for a second, just for every hour of the day, dripping ticks of hourglass time in rainbows on newly ancient earth. Crumbling away to the tattoo of a futuristic bread crumb path

The simoun is simple, remembered motions, practiced maneuvers, and heartfelt kisses, distant formalities which seem to possess all the meaning in the world to her now, so Dominura thinks 'I never want to forget this.' and 'I never want to stop.' or truly 'Why must I leave her all alone?'

(She doesn't try to fool herself into selflessness; it is all a mockery in conceipt. After all, after what she has seen, Limone is the only thing in the world that is worth it.)

(The only thing in the world that makes her feel she is worth anything.)

There is a smile in her partner's eyes, a smudge of vermillion on her lips (just enough for Dominura to know she will always be remembered) and her aqua hair is lilting under the open cover shield. The way the light hits her face (young, so young, by the time she starts to fade Dominura will be long gone) is etherial and it takes all that Dominura is to remember this as the same world, because the elder is so sure that her pair never looked more beautiful in their shared future.

(Limone is growing up, but so is she. They will never be adults still, but eternal is no longer a word that can be ascribed to maidens.)

Dominura's every movement glistens and there is a trail merging with the wind, their ri majons, the infinite sky, and right now she is Flying for as long as she can last.

(Because Limone gives her will and desire and heart and that terrifying feeling she remembers from the edge of the helix which can only be called hope.)

(That death spiral contained the memories of a god and so many thousands of years of snow that the existence of such monstrous faith became their greatest fear. Dominura knows now that the heart is indomitable, but will never be sure if it applies to herself, for without Limone she is nothing.)

She has always been a revealing girl (not a woman ever, yet) and Limone is brilliance incarnate. Dominura couldn't hide it if she tried, but it makes her laugh up tears of strength and sorrow to think that even with their night's embrace (tightly, tighter, fade to black.) that the time it takes to notice may be all she has left.

(Smile, smile. And even this will be so if you want it enough.)

But a fool's memory is a perfect lie and to her these days will be forever beautiful.

(as maidens can not be.)
