He purred his contentment as he watched the sparkly and shiny fireworks light up the night sky with a multitude of lovely shades of purple, pink, red, yellow, orange, and blue. He smiled to himself. All Hallow's Eve was going along swimmingly this year, and so far, the blasted Spellmans hadn't managed to screw it up.
They always did, though, he thought begrudgingly. They always managed to mess up his favorite holiday, rather it was by transforming him into something offensive, belittling him in other ways, or creating a fiasco. It wasn't just All Hallow's, either. It was also the Solstice, the Equinox, Imbolc, . . . Whatever the occasion, they never failed to screw it up, but maybe, just maybe, this year . . .
His hopefulness was shattered by the sudden sounds of crashing and loud "Ouch!"es, "Ow!"es, and other choice words. Salem flattened his ears against his head and muttered darkly. One day, he swore to himself, one day, they'd never be able to screw life up for him ever again.
The End
