Xander peeked out of the changing cabana. Gods was it bright. How Ryoma managed to talk him into coming to the beach, he wasn't certain.
From far off, he heard Elise's giggling and he looked around. Oh, right. Ryoma had invited all of the Nohrian royalty for a vacation on the beach. Leo had taken a seat on a beach blanket with Takumi, where it looked like they were poring over different books. Nerds.
Camilla and Hinoka were lying on their stomachs sunbathing and talking about the differences in pegasi and wyverns. Both acted tough, but deep down they really cared about their mounts.
Corrin, Azura, and Sakura were with Elise splashing in the shallows of the ocean, Corrin making the biggest splashes as a dragon.
Which left Ryoma. Xander continued to scan the beach until he spotted a rocky area with Ryoma perched on the highest rock. He stepped out of the cabana in his black swim trunks, holding a giant floatie that looked like Lilith. Everyone was aware that Xander couldn't swim, and while they didn't care that he had it, he still felt a little embarrassed that he had the floatie. He followed the beach path as far as he could before nearing the water to climb the rocks.
"Xander, I'm so glad you all could make it to the beach," Ryoma called out.
"Thank you for extending the invitation for us to come. We all certainly could use the rest," Xander replied as he reached the plateau where the Hoshidan king stood. It had been nearly a month since they all had teamed up to defeat Anankos to save the world. Xander, Ryoma, and Corrin all had their coronation ceremonies and started working on building peace between the three countries.
"I figured we all could use the vacation to relax. We've all been working hard lately and could use bonding time, " Ryoma said as he spread out a giant beach blanket and a picnic basket. "Have a seat."
Xander sat down on one side of the picnic basket. Ryoma sat on the other side.
"What's for lunch?" Xander asked.
"Chilled grilled fish and rice balls. It's a simple enough meal to take to the beach, "Ryoma replied.
The two kings sat enjoying their meal and they talked of future plans for the Hoshidans to come vacation in Nohr, possibly for the Halloween Festival that would take place a few days after Xander's birthday.
"What a treat that sounds like. Though I much prefer the treat in front of me," Ryoma said as he moved the picnic basket and scooted closer to the blond man.
"And just w-what would that be?" Xander stammered.
"You," Ryoma said as he leaned in to kiss Xander.
Xander's face turned a bright pink as he placed his hands in Ryoma's wild mane.
When they broke away, Xander replied, "I'll say this is the best treat, to be here with you."
