The past month since Sixth Year started had been complete and utter hell. Andromeda felt like she had to spend every minute of every day avoiding that one person who also happened to be stuck in her thoughts - Ted bloody Tonks. This was easier said than done seeing as the Hufflepuff hadn't exactly gotten the memo that she was avoiding him, that she was now dead set on destroying her crush on him that had come about since he had begun tutoring her the year before. That could have possibly been because she hadn't sent out anything of the sort, but still, how unperceptive could a person be? She would have told him of her plan did she not get so flustered every time he came within ten feet of her.

As was the case right now; standing a few feet in front of him behind one of the greenhouses with a slight scowl on her face. Without so much as a proper greeting, Andromeda had grabbed Ted by the wrist as she caught him after his Herbology class and dragged him after her to where they now stood. For the first time in quite some time, she honestly didn't care who saw her with him. It didn't matter because she was going to tell him that this - whatever this was? - had to end today. She wasn't afforded the ability to fancy a Muggleborn and knew it, yet stuck here trying to avoid his gaze and at the same time being drawn to it, it was painfully obvious that she did.

When Ted said her name almost warily, she flit those dark hues up to look at him and couldn't pull away. She had practiced this little speech over and over in her mind already; all of the reasons they weren't allowed to be friends and all of the reasons they certainly weren't allowed to be anything more than that. Steeling herself to show no emotions, her mouth opened to speak but the words died on her tongue. It was obvious he knew that something was wrong, but was still waiting for her to tell him exactly what that was. In a single fleeting moment her well-thought out near diatribe was replaced by a sole thought. Andromeda took two steps forward, practically grabbed him around his collar before tugging him down to her level (though she still stood on tiptoes) and pressed her lips against his in a display that was the epitome of awkward first kisses.
