What is it they say? Ah, yes… this is not my first rodeo.
I've done this many times.
It's a weakness.
One I enjoy so very much.
I always break them.
Some take longer than others, but in the end I always win.
Always.
Some hardly struggle at all. Those ones are always disappointing; no challenge.
I'd pegged the funny one for one of those, or at least close to it, and I know I'd have been right… if he'd been alone.
But his friend… he changed things.
Men are always stronger together than they are apart, and this pair proved that a thousand times over. That is why I did not separate them. Made my game that much more interesting. Their conversation was nothing if not supremely amusing to me.
But now… now I am alone with the crazy one.
Only I think he is not so crazy as he seems.
His little friend is no longer here to need protecting. He does not have to be strong for anyone but himself.
This one… he's a real piece of work, but he's mine to work on now.
And I wonder…
Just what kind of man is this Malcolm Reynolds?
