The bearded, grey-haired man stood holding the Gallifreyan gun. An army of metal machines, screeching "EXTERMINATE" in a horrendous choir of murder. Sighing, he walked forward, firing into the back of one that was about to open fire on a soldier, making the dome on top explode.

"Get to your TARDIS," he commanded the soldier, while firing upon the army of what appeared to the naked eye as machines, who were all turning towards him.

"My what?," the soldier raised their eyebrow.

Muttering an unintelligible word, he continued, "your TT capsule. Get to it." This the soldier understood, saluting the man and running away.

"Doctor," said one of the mechanical creatures, another following, then another, until the entire army was screaming the same name.

"Oh, you Dalek bastards," he frowned, though signs of a grin were visible. "You think this'll be it. You always do, every time. You think you'll kill me. But..."

A police box began to materialise in front of him, a grinding sound coming from it as a light flickered on top.

"You always forget about the companions."

A blonde woman with a soft face came out of the box, dressed in the traditional Time Lord garb, followed by an odd robotic dog, it's name 'K9' on the sides of it's boxy body. K9 was firing red lasers from it's 'nose', the woman holding the same model of gun the Doctor had. The Doctor joined them in firing on the Daleks, not even giving them a chance to return fire.

Soon, they were stood in a smoke-covered battlefield, grey and gold Dalek corpses scattered left and right. However, their celebrations were interrupted.

"Doctor."

The Doctor turned around. Sat behind him was a Dalek with it's entire upper half blown off, revealing the creature itself. It was a blue cephalopod, a single eye in the middle as it's tentacles twitched.

"Exterminate," it continued, the laser arm twitching. The Doctor quickly raised his gun, about to fire, but it fired first. The woman quickly leaped at him, pushing him away as the laser hit her. She fell over almost immediately, the Doctor's face growing with rage as he lost his calm and collected attitude. With a scream, he began to open fire on the shell, completely obliterating the Dalek, the creature inside letting out a futile yelp for mercy in it's last moments. He turned back to the woman on the ground.

"Romana," he muttered, kneeling down over her. He knew what would happen, he knew she wouldn't die. She wasn't human, after all, and this was only her second incarnation. She had a lot of life ahead of her yet.

She returned nothing more than a weak smile, before shutting her eyes. His mouth was gaping slightly, not knowing what to expect, as her skin began to gain a faint yellow glow. It built up around her, turning stronger and stronger. She was regenerating.
