Seen It Before

"Morning guys." Sandra said as she walked into the office. She turned to face Gerry in the corner who was desperately trying to tell her something without the other two noticing. As she realised he was pointing near her mouth she wiped it and turned back around to face the other two.

"I've seen that scarf before, did you wear it yesterday?" Brian asked as she looked down at the scarf and now she realised what Gerry was trying to point out to her. Their relationship had been a secret for months but that was all about to be ruined as she'd left hers at home and had stayed at his the previous night, noticing the frost outside Gerry lent her his as they'd been sure no one would notice.

"Yeah I did." Sandra lied.

"No you didn't, you wore a big chunky necklace yesterday." Jack reminded her. "I know that as you said a special someone got you it but then refused to tell me who the person was. I'm still trying to figure it out."

"Okay maybe I wore it the day before." Sandra pointed out getting angry.

"No, I definitely saw it yesterday."

"I don't know maybe another female officer was wearing one? It's a popular scarf."

"That's a male scarf, is it your special someone's?" Jack asked her.

"Yeah it is." Sandra gave up but knew they wouldn't do the same.

"So he works here?" Jack replied.

"I'm saying nothing."

"Was it definitely yesterday Brian?" Jack asked.

"Yeah." Brian replied.

"Well which male officers did you see yesterday?"

"That weird guy off reception, Strickland, you and Gerry." Brian replied as Sandra turned and gave Gerry a look to say help when the other two weren't looking.

"So Sandra I don't think you'd date the weird guy so how long have you been with Strickland?" Jack asked her.

"Jack I have never and will never date Strickland."

"So it's the weird receptionist?" Jack asked confused.

"God no!"

"Brian are you sure you saw no one else as that only leaves Gerry?" Jack said before a look of realisation crossed both of their faces.

"I think they know now baby." Sandra said to Gerry as she moved over to his open arms and sat on his lap. She figured if she had to suffer the questions that she was sure was coming then so was he and if she had to do this then she was going to do it from the comfort of his arms.

"When? I mean how long?" Jack began.

"5 months." Sandra answered.

"How?" Jack carried on.

"You don't really want to know mate." Gerry answered.

"Is it serious?"

"I can only speak for myself but for me it is, I love her."

"And I love him. So yeah it's serious." Sandra replied. "Finished?"

"Not yet, you aren't going to go get married are you?"

"No Jack we aren't." Sandra replied.

"Good."
