"Class, get your papers and pencils. You have a test today." Narumi announced to his little students. Every child took their papers and pencils out from their bags and waited as their teacher writes their test on the board. Once he was done, he turned to them and said, "You may start now."
Little Mikan frowned once she reached the math section written on the board.
2+7=?
Uh. She wracked her brain for the answer, but nothing came out. Why does math have to be included in their test, anyway?
Glaring at the equations on the board, she subconsciously looked around her fellow classmates and found a pair of ruby eyes staring at her paper.
"Hey!" All eyes turned to the brunette who was now covering her paper with both her hands.
Mikan narrowed her eyes at Natsume who was staring at her in confusion. "Natsume, you're cheating! Narumi-sensei, he's looking at my paper!"
"I am not." Natsume replied in his usual stoic voice. Narumi approached the two children who were sitting beside each other. He turned to the boy.
"Natsume-kun, are you really looking at Mikan-chan's paper?" Little Natsume looked up at him.
"Yes." Everybody gasped at his confession.
"I knew it! He's really cheating, Narumi-sensei!" Natsume glared at Mikan.
"I'm not copying your answers, you idiot. I'm definitely smarter than you."
"Children, don't fight," Narumi piped in, but Mikan was already worked up.
"If you're not copying my answers, then why are you looking at my paper?" She demanded, and couldn't help but to be annoyed as Natsume just smirk at her statement.
"I'm just checking if your first name.." He started, leaning closer to our brunette. Mikan distanced herself with a glare.
"..fits perfectly with my last name." He finished with a knowing grin. Mikan paused.
Everybody jeered loudly as Mikan's face reddened once the thought sink in her brain. She huffed with her arms crossed, trying to hide her blushing face.
"W-What a lame excuse. If I know you're rea-" She didn't manage to finish her sentence because Natsume suddenly kissed her on her cheek.
"Shut up, little girl. We have a test, haven't we?" And with a final wink, Natsume went back to his paper.
Narumi watched as Mikan mutely turned back to her paper. She had that silly blush on her face while Natsume has a wide smirk on his face. He laughed inwardly. Kids nowadays…
