I remember it was a windy, and dark day. I was on my way to the Bariura's treasure, slipping inside and taking notes on what to evade, and which I can get through. At the courtyard however, there was… a curious sight.

The eighth princess was training, well, that was normal, I suppose. The curious thing was the one looking at her, and hiding the moment the princess was looking around. Hmmm… I suppose I could postpone my checking a bit, this was too much strangeness in a moment.

And so, I did something that almost killed me next. I went to the same bush as the one that was looking at the princess, oh, yes, I got her surprised face, but when a scythe was shoved to my face, I wondered if that was a bad decision after all.

"Who are you? If you are here to hurt her…" She whispered at me, and I was filled with an ominous feeling at her tones. Oh yes, I could feel that she's serious…

But after all, I am the great thief Zelnite! I cannot let this…. hurdle get between me and the treasure…. and uh, more importantly, my life.

"Well good afternoon my lady, I'm… just a humble thief passing by."

Not that convincing I guess… she was staring at me with deadpan eyes. Not good, especially for my pride!

So I retreated away from her scythe, and pulled my cloak to create an artificial wind. "Actually, I'm none other than the Great Thief Z-"

A sharp pain on my head followed soon afterwards. Collapsing on the ground, she dragged me back behind the bush.

"Y-you idiot!" she stammered, her pale face gaining a slight red tinge. "What if she found out?!" She was also looking nervously towards the princess, luckily, it seemed our commotion hadn't pulled any attention.

Wincing slightly, I did my best to hide the pain, Damn, did she hit hard. "Why all the worries, though?" I told her, backing away a bit, oh, I'm not scared, I'm only ensuring an easy escape if she suddenly shifts into an even fouler mood. Like that pedestal I can use to get to the roof…

Was pretty glad I did that. She brandished her scythe once more and looked more like a guard dog ready to bite than a cute girl.

"Go away, Mr. Thief. I'm pretty sure thieves aren't allowed around here." She turned back, her eyes watchfully looking the princess… wait…

Those ruby red eyes with that mark on her cheeks… "Are you… the princess?" I asked, on purpose of course. Although I held back on asking why the heck she kept watch on the younger princess.

"... and why does that matter, Mr. Thief?" She whispered, that ominous scythe approaching ever closer...

"Okay then, little princess, whatever you say." I told her, grinning a bit because that answer just confirmed it for me. Well, well, well... a princess watching the other princess, such a curious sight.

But for now... "I shall go away for now, little princess, adieu!" I said, making a hasty retreat; it's a strategic retreat of course, I'm just planning to plan my next move…
