Comparing Notes

Written 3-29-07. 15 Minutes.
Summary: It isn't always a good idea to eavesdrop, as Maedhros inadvertently finds out.
Warnings: Cooperating Fëanor and Fingolfin. In other words, OOC.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Silmarillion or any of its characters. Mr. Tolkien, I apologize profusely for my rather shameless use of your characters in this narrative.
Nelyafinwë Maitimo Fëanárion pauses outside of the door to his father's office, hearing voices from within. There is laughter behind that door, and, bless his pointy Elf ears, is that his uncle's voice?! He and his brother actually seem to be getting along, for once. Curiosity overcomes the need to speak to his father, and Nelyafinwë presses his ear to the wood of the door. His uncle's voice floats into his hearing.
"...You know, Anairë wears this old, little, silky shift when we do it. It barely comes down to cover her bottom, but it's so see-through that it leaves little to the imagination."
A thoughtful hum from Curufinwë, and then he speaks in the same manner.
"Really? Nerdanel likes to do it in the nude, and I can't really blame her for it. It is much more pleasant that way: less clothes to remove."
Nelyafinwë freezes as the connotations strike his mind with a ferocity that sends him reeling. Are his father and uncle comparing notes about THAT?! Nolofinwë's voice reaches his ears once more, but he does not have the brain-power left to pull his ear away.
"Hmm. What does she say about when it laps at her thighs?"
"She prefers when it touches her breasts, actually."
Nelyafinwë releases a sound akin to that of a mouse being trodden on, his usually baritone voice rising an octave or two. A bright blush spots his cheeks, and he can feel the tips of his ears burning. His uncle and father do not hear him, though.
"And what about when it touches her there? Does she squeak in surprise?"
"No, she gasps and then moans when it hits her. It's really quite endearing."
Nelyafinwë thinks that he is going to pass out from shame. He cannot imagine his father and mother doing that: it is too scarring for his mind, educated and imaginative though it is. He hears his father and uncle chuckle.
"I know! And this is only when we go swimming!"
Nelyafinwë promptly falls against the doorway in a dead faint.
There is silence for a moment, and then the door opens to expose a bemused Curufinwë and Nolofinwë. They stare down at Curufinwë's eldest son for a moment, eyebrows raised, before glancing to one another.
"So, what does she do when you climb trees?"
END.
