They were waiting at the orphanage for their new daughter to show up.
A little girl with long, brown hair, and equally as stunning, brown eyes stepped out of a ambulance, and walked towards the orphanage.
Kyoya could already tell that she would become a beautiful, young lady one day.
He knew that he would have to watch out for the teenage boys, once she was a teenager herself. He couldn't let those boys marry her; he needed her to marry someone beneficiary for either his business, or Tamaki's business.
She was led to them by one of the workers.
"Hey there, Princess." Tamaki cooed.
She gave him a dirty look.
She then glanced towards Kyoya. Her expression changed to one of confusion, as if she was expecting a lady to be standing there.
"I'm Kyoya Ootori." He told her.
Recognition lit up in her eyes, only to be followed shortly after by confusion.
"I'm going to be your adoptive mother, despite the fact that I am a man. I love Tamaki, and am dating him." Kyoya explained.
Haruhi looked more curious than frightened, but Tamaki read something different out of this situation.
Tamaki wailed, "You'll scare her! Let her adjust to it."
Kyoya only agreed to Tamaki's last statement.
Obviously, Haruhi was not easily scared, and especially not of strange familial situations.
Tamaki started doting on her the instant they arrived at the Suoh-Ootori estate.
He even showed Haruhi to her room, and had the servants make a special, welcome home dinner for Haruhi.
Kyoya went back to doing the work that he could do at home for his business, as he would do for awhile after their daughter arrived.
That first night, Kyoya and Tamaki heard a scream from Haruhi's room.
It had been quite some time since Tamaki had tucked her in.
Kyoya moved away from Tamaki, and grabbed his own khakis, and his white button up shirt.
He slid them both on quickly.
He tossed the frantic Tamaki his clothes.
Kyoya was fearful that their new heiress was getting hurt or killed.
Kyoya was also dissappointed that she had interrupted them.
They found her awake, and trembling from a nightmare.
Naturally, this angered, and annoyed Kyoya.
It sent Tamaki in to a worried frenzy.
They didn't realize that this would soon turn in to a nightly occurance.
