Quick Note:

I just want to point this out early on, the story takes place during modern times so not everything that happens in canon Naruto will happen here.

Sakura Haruno was supposed to be average. Her father worked in construction, her mother was a typical housewife, and she was a normal student dreaming of going to a college where she would meet the man of her dreams. She was average in everything besides academics which she was slightly smarter than the other kids and her hair was a vivid pink.

But she quickly learned that being ordinary can get you killed. Or in her case, watch someone whom she loved with all her heart, be slaughtered next to her frozen form. She couldn't do anything but feel their arms slacken against her hold, smell the copper scent of blood, and suffocate against the overwhelming fear.

And when the feds came to the scene, late of course, she had said nothing. She didn't cry or whimper. She had no right to. Because Sakura knew she was not the victim. She didn't do anything when her family were cut up into pieces.

She was an accomplice.

Never fucking again.

So Sakura picked herself up and took a new path. Instead of wishing on stars and throwing pennies in fountains, she sold her soul to the next devil willing to take it. Killed when necessary and never blinked twice. She decided she would look back when she was good and dead because to falter would be a weakness she couldn't afford. Not when she had a new goal in life.

She won't sit in the sidelines anymore because she couldn't afford to.

...

Darkness settled over their broad shoulders as they moved up the winding stairs. The building was closed and only impenetrable silence followed them. They were there for one thing and one thing only, the profiles of the latest prisoners.

They first scanned the tiny room. There was a large wooden desk in the middle with a wide window in front of it. A book shelf was in a corner and a large painting of a waterfall laid next to it. All in all the room was sparse and unappealing.

Kakashi was the first one to notice something strange in the cold room. He held a hand in the air to warn his teammates and by then all of them were in position. Naruto blocked the door, Sasuke moved to the left and Kakashi slid to the right.

A slither of movement next the drapes was all that was needed for Sasuke to grab the slim wrist and pull the spy in the open.

Long pink hair spilled out, emerald eyes sparkled beneath bangs, and lips were pursed into a pout. The men didn't expect Sakura of all people to be there.

"What the hell?"

Trust Naruto to be the first to speak.

Author's note:

Well there you have it! This is just the introduction of Sakura and of course there will be more in the next chapter.

I really think Sakura is someone to watch out for. She's an underdog with no expectations for her. I love her because she is ordinary.
