It was night. Officer Keith Venable and his fellow officers were chasing a drug trafficker who was caught trafficking drugs across state lines.
A storm was brewing when he shouted through his radio "Is it safe to pit?"
Another officer had given him the go ahead. He sped up to the suspect only to find that he was brake checking the officer.
Keith slammed his hand on the wheel. It started to rain. This would mean that the streets way too dangerous to drive on. Driving too fast and wreckless would be dangerous. Lightning and thunder had also started to commnece.
He called into the radio but there was no response. 'Radio must be dead.' He thought. He looked at the road to see the suspects tail lights turn a corner. He then turned too but lightning struck the road in front of him. A flash of light followed the strike.
When the commotion had stopped he looked around. It appeared that he was far from the chase because there were no wailing sirens and all you could hear were crickets chirping away. He decided to turn on his radio to see if there was any radio stations that were on. Some music was playing on one of them. A news report on another. What caught his interest was that the reporter said something about Zootopia.
He was wondering if he was dreaming. He pinched himself. He was not dreaming and this was all very, very real. He decided to wave down a driver because he had no clue where to go. He stepped out of the car and went to the back to bring out the reflective orange triangle. He set it on the road and walked back to turn on the light bars so people could see.
He decided to turn on the news station that was playing earlier while he was waiting.
"This is Jeffery Gilford with ZNN. Reports from Bunnyburrows and throughout the Triburrows are reporting a gigantic flash of light. They say only that it lasted a couple seconds but it was still enough for residents to question it. Someone from Bunnyburrows, who asked to be anonymous, said that he was making dinner when he saw a bright light out the window but was only around for 2 to 3 seconds.Tonight we also have Kenneth Syed, a scientist from Zootopias Aeronautics and Space Administration AKA ZASA.So Kenneth, any explanation on tonights events?Well Jeff, I mean we dont have any developments concerning the light, but I can tell you our team will be investigating.Alright Kenneth thank you for coming, after the break we will getting more opinions from experts and citizens."Keith turned off the radio as it was made clear that evreyone had noticed his strange arrival. He looked in his rearview mirror as he saw a car approaching his vehicle. He stepped out and started waving his hands to flag the car down.
The car had stopped beside the officer.
"What seems to.." The driver sees the officer dosent look like anyone hes seen before and vice versa. Luckily the driver wasnt alarmed. After a long silence, the driver said
"Lost?"
"Yeah.. Do you know the way to Zootopia?"
"Just follow this road and it should lead you right to it."
"Thank you very much. Your not gonna like freak out because I dont look like you guys?"
"Nah. Nothing gets me alarmed that easily. Anyways if you get lost in the city, heres a map of it." The driver hands Keith the map.
"Thanks again."
"No problem."
Keith sees the driver drive off and then steps into his own car to start his drive into the city. He turns on the car and turns on the sirens to hopefully get to the city faster, just in the case there was any traffic.
He had finally gotten to the city, its gleaming lights beaming down on the car.
He decided to turn on his phone for directions, be then realized he couldnt because he was in another universe and maps wouldn't work. He realized he was gonna have to pull over and look at the map the driver gave him.
After 5 minutes of looking at the map, he started his car again and took off for Precinct 1. He would have never thought that a movie on his version of Earth could be so real. Then again here he was.
He realized that he couldnt go to the cops in this world because they would probably ask him alot of questions and detain him. So he quickly made the switch over to the direction of the Warehouse District.
He was hoping that his knowing of the movie, would help him find Nick Wilde.
Or he could try and find Judy Hopps, but decided against it because it would be too hard trying to locate her.
After 15 minutes of driving on the freeway, he pulled off the exit for the road leading to the rows of abandoned warehouses. After looking around for 15 minutes, he found the bridge that looked the same from the movie. Hopeing that it was the right bridge, he drove under it and made sure his presence wasnt noticed by turning off his headlights.
He turned off the car and proceeded to go under the bridge with his flashlight, calling his name.
"Nick! Nick Wilde!"
Suddenly a loud groaning was heard, and a figure was now in the beaming light of the flashlight.
"Wha?.. Who are you?"
Nick then got a clearer image of the man and then almost instantly reached for his gun.
Keith said "Wait! I'm not here to hurt you."
Nick said "How am I supposed to believe that? You come and show up, knowing where I am, and knowing my name... You also dont look like any creature I've ever seen."
He says "Trust me Nick. Im not here to hurt you. If I wanted to hurt you, you would be dead already."
Nick says "Well thats true." He sets the gun down "Doesn't mean I completely trust you. So tell me everything."
Keith says "Alright I will. You might think I'm crazy though."
Nick laughs "Well, I mean what you look like, is enough to think that I am going crazy"
Keith agrees "I guess so."
From that Keith tells him evreything, from the chase to the bright light to meeting him.
Nick says "Wait.. so your a cop?"
"Yes I am"
"What department?"
"Well its the LAPD. Los Angeles Police Department."
Nick nods. "How do you know who I am?"
He explains "Well on our version of Earth, theres an animated movie called Zootopia. It follows the events of you and Judy and how you two solved the Nighthowlers case."
Nick nods once more. "Well I mean why didnt you go to the police?"
"Well I mean they probably wouldve detained me and asked me alot of questions."
"Oh. I guess its also extremely late. We should be getting some sleep. But I can ask Judy to come by to Finnicks van to see what to do next."
"What if Judy asks why?"
"Well I'll tell her that I will explain it to her later... Anyway's whats your name?"
"My names Keith"
"Nice name. Are you hungry?"
"I guess I could go for something. I mean if its not a problem."
"Of course not" Nick said with a smile "I have some Fast food from a place I picked up from earlier. Want a burger?"
"I would love too" Keith happily starts to eat burger as Nick and Keith share cop stories. Nick was sharing how he stopped a bank robbery even before it happened and Keith was sharing how he in was in a high pursuit with a kidnapper
After they were finished, Nick went back to his makeshift bed but also handed Keith a extra blanket he had for when it cold.
"Thanks Nick"
"No problem, remember about tommorow."
"I won't. Hopefully things will go well with Finnick and Judy.
"Yeah I hope... Night" Nick says before he crashes on top of his bed.
Keith says goodnight and then lays down in the backseat of his cop car. He took off his badge because it hurt when he was laying down. He looked up at the stars and wondered when he was going to get back to his own world.
At the same time, he was hoping it was all a dream, but nonetheless, he was ready for what was gonna happen tommorow...
