Prologue
Serenity glanced up at Alex, just one last time. "I'm sorry." She whispered, her voice barely anything but breath. He was crying, and she knew why. "Alex..."her voice faded, her breath slowing until a final beat was erased from her heart. She looked down at him, ready to be reborn. "I will be back." She whispered, and with that entered the world once more.
Chapter 1
River looked around, sighing. "Riv, time for school!" Her mother called. She ran towards the bus, muttering something about the bus driver . "Cmon Riv, last day of school." She muttered. After the school day had ended, a boy her age came up to her. "Hello." He said, his voice gentle. She stared. "What do you want?" She asked. "River, do you believe in immortality? Rebirth?" He asked, his blue eyes hopeful. She pushed a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear, her violet eyes confused. "Sorry, what?"she asked, her voice quiet. "Take my hand." The stranger told her. "O-ok." And with that she gasped as they jumped worlds.
Chapter 2
River gasped as she looked around. "Woah. Where are we?" He smiled at her. "My home." She noticed a palace, its towers gleaming in the sun. "Is that yours?" She asked excitedly. He nodded. "Prince Alex! You've returned! And who is this?" A man exclaimed. "This is Princess River. Treat her with respect." She stared at him. 'Princess?' She thought. 'I'm no royalty!' "Follow me." Alex told her. She followed quietly behind. He showed her to her room. She sighed as he closed the door, and looked in the drawers, surprised to find images of other girls... girls that looked like her?
Chapter 3
When she approached Alex about it, he didn't respond."It isn't important." He muttered. Her eyes flashed dangerously. "It isn't important? Why do those girls look like me?" She repeated. He sighed. "What did I say right before I brought you here?"he asked her.
She gasped. "Do you believe in immortality?' Are... Are you...immortal?" She whispered. He nodded, and said,"and you too if you do wish. It would possibly return your memory." She laughed. "Return my memory? Bu-" He cut her off."Yes. From your past. Past lives, to be exact ." The next thing she knew, the world around her was black.
Chapter 4
She opened her eyes, and looked around to see Alex. "Thank the gods!" He exclaimed as he ran to her. "You're alright!" She nodded. "Alex... I... I want to be like you." She whispered. He stared. "Are you sure?" He asked her, sighing when he nodded. "It is a fast process, however it will be extremly painful." He warned. She stared in horror, then nodded confident in him. "After this, I can touch you, love you, and rule alongside you." He told her. And then it became akward. "I need to touch your heart and lungs." He whispered in her ear, having come behind her. She gasped softly and nodded.
Chapter 5
He looked down at her, and moved back behind her as she removed her crop top. "Ready? I can lessen the pain if you so wish." She nodded slowly. He pulled her head a little bit, and then kissed her. He whipped her around and kissed her harder, and made the connection. She screamed silently, tears running down her cheeks as the memories came rushing back. Millions of them. When the transformation finished. She put her top back on, and then followed him out to the balcony where her new kingdom was waiting. "All Hail Princess River, Bride to Prince Alex!" The chant was carried throughout the kingdom. "A guess that's a million chances for us. And now, we can finally achieve what we've waited so long for.
