The Doctor grinned at Martha Jones as the TARDIS reached a stop and grabbed his coat from the coat stand nearest the door.
"Doctor! You don't have to prove this. It just sounds really ridiculous. I mean they're stories. From imagination. They were written for children for bedtime stories" Martha argued.
"Ah but that's where you're wrong Martha! Some books, yes, they do come from the imagination but you'll be amazed at how many stories are from fact not fiction!" The Doctor argued back.
"Then why are they called fiction? If they were true…" Martha trailed off as The Doctor opened the door and whirled around again to face her. "Martha, if they were stated as fact by the authors, wouldn't they be carted off to the nearest looney bin? Sometimes its best to say the wonderful things are just made up in the mind" The Doctor told her as he ran out the door with her close behind his heels, until she froze in mid step at the sight that awaited her. Ok, maybe The Doctor hadn't been teasing her when they had started the argument about fairy tales being real or not.
Martha's mouth dropped open as she looked around her in utter amazement. She had to stop from pinching herself to make sure what she was seeing was real or not.
"What do you think?" The Doctor asked with a grin, bouncing on his heels in excitement and looking a little satisfied in getting the shocked reaction off Martha.
"Where are we?" Martha asked as she took a tentative step forwards in the strange land.
"OZ! See! There's the yellow brick road! I told you that it was real didn't I? I'm going to open your eyes Martha Jones, you're going to love it! Though, last time I was here, I helped with a few problems. You know, get a girl back home safely in the TARDIS, deal with a couple of munchins, and a witch. It was the best time of my life" The Doctor rambled.
"Wait? You helped a girl back home? You don't mean?" Martha asked, completely amazed and not sure what to think. "Dorothy? Well sort of…though her name wasn't Dorothy. See, that's the thing. They change details in the book. I guess being a Wizard was much more better than being The Doctor and the girl's name was..I can't remember off the top of my head, but it was nothing like the name Dorothy. You'll be surprised at what the authors change" The Doctor commented, walking along with his hands stuffed into his pockets. "Come on then? Do you want to have a look around for a little while? Might even show you the Ruby Slippers" The Doctor winked.
"Oh my god! You are completely amazing!" Martha beamed, shutting the TARDIS door and following him, looking around her everywhere, ready for her little adventure in the wonderful land of OZ.
