Her sweet voice crooned over the cradle, her pale hand resting gently on the cloth. Where soft, brown eyes should be, the small creature had black. The child was fairly quiet, and a beauty to the eye. His hair was dark and his skin was like snow. She took him in her arms, still singing the faint lullaby. They all know he was dangerous.
"Hush little baby don't say a word..."
Chapter One: It began
"A mother loves her child." I said, rubbing circles on my round stomach. The once pale, creamy skin was now pink and more human. I had looked more human than I'd ever seen before, which oddly brought a smile to everyone's face. It was unbelievable how human we looked together.
Being born a vampire hybrid with perfect, pale skin and flawless features could have a toll on someone like me. My morning routine had been to get up, dress nicely, and fix my hair in a braid. Most teenagers had to wash their face to avoid acne, which was a blessing on my part, and worry if the boy they liked felt the same way. As for me, I never had to worry, I had my share of boyfriends over the eighteen years of my life. I was still slim and didn't have too many curves. I'd never be more than sixteen.
Jacob would always physically be sixteen, muscular, tanned and sexy. He looked twenty two.
You see my point? Each time I'd go to the movies with him, my fiancee, I'd look like his daughter...or his victim. Aunt Rose and Dad got a kick out of that one.
So to be next to Jacob, ready to have his baby, and looking like a woman was the best feeling. The course of my life was as close to a classic sitcom/horror film as anyone could get. My parent's never aged, neither did my grandparents, Carlisle and Esme. My real Grandpa Charlie was shot when he stopped a bank robber. His memory slipped my mind, but when I see those photos of that smiling, hot-tempored cop, I know it's my grandpa.
Claire Young is the closest I have to a best friend, technically she's older than me. For the longest time, she did not look like it. But she grew into it when she was fifteen. She had her black, smooth hair cut short and streaked with blue. Her nose was peirced eventually as well. Quil is not too happy about that, but as starstruck as ever.
For the past three years of my life, Carlisle had been trying to make it so vampires could bare children. That idea was brought upon by Rosalie and Esme's sudden depression. Mainly Rosalie.
At first, the experiment was going well. But Rosalie got sick and turned gray, so he had a few kinks to work out. By that time, Jake had proposed after we slept together. Literally, not like sleeping together.
The honeymoon was in Cuba. And there had been a few things I did there that would be news to Jacob. I became pregnant and took the first plane bck to Washington.
