Kaz sighed. Inej had been gone for over three months. She was tracking another slave ship. He was finishing up some work when there was a knock on the door. "What do you want!" he yelled. "Geez, Kaz, cut me some slack." Good it was only Jesper. He was not in the mood for anything or anyone today. There had been no more problems then the common territory disputes. Jesper walked in, a smug grin on his face. Wylan came in after looking embarrassed. "What do you want," Kaz repeated. "I have good news! Nina sent this to all of us," Jesper handed him a letter. He read it carefully. Dear Kaz, Jesper, and Wylan, Kaz paused. He guessed she knew Inej was off again. I am doing well and all of the sadness is behind me. Matthias is buried on a specific shore on Fjerda, and I am safe in Ravka. For all of your informations Inej is here too. She is just docked yesterday, and I was very happy to see her. She told me she was stopping here for a week and that she expects to return to Ketterdam after, so I asked if I could come with her, and she said yes! I expect it will take a week or two to travel so I am going to put this letter in the mailbox right when I am finished with it. I wish you all the best and we will see you soon! With Love, Nina. He finished the letter. "When did it get here," he asked Jesper and Wylan. "Just now." "So they should be here in three weeks." "Yes...um Kaz?" "Yes?" "I um we we wondering if um…-" "Saints Wylan, we wanted to know if you would like to live at Wylan's house. So you wouldn't have to walk up so many stairs and...yeah." He thought about it, then to his surprise… "Sure. Go get my stuff and I'll meet you downstairs." Wylan and Jesper looked shocked, but went upstairs to get his things. He was excited about seeing Inej and Nina, but again he wouldn't admit it to anyone. He and Inej didn't really leave on good terms. He was trying to be without armor, but it was so hard. The day before she left he burst out, yelled at her. She left the next day, without a word. She had gone before, but never this long. He was worried and sorry and mad at himself. He needed her. She was his lobster (excuse the Friends reference). He didn't know if she loved him anymore.
