"Where were you Bella?" Edward asks as Bella approaches, She's smiling and tries to blow off the subject, but when Edward asks one more time she tells him.
"I went to La Push for the day…" she trails off, her eyes avoid his but he knows better.
" I know how much you love him," but Edward would never say such a thing.

Edward says Goodbye to Bella as she exits his car, walking out into the pouring rain. He watches her as she sprints to cross the boundary line where a small red car is parked. Edward watches as Jacob Black exits his car to catch Bella at the last second, as she trips over her own feet and lands into his arms.
"I know my arms are no longer the ones that you crave to catch you when you fall…"
…but the silence still clings the air as he puts his foot on the gas and speeds away.

"I love you" Edward whispers in Bella's ear. She turns her head to look at his face, her eyes are troubled as she whispers, "I love you too."
"…but how many times have you said that to another? How many times have you meant it?"
but just like everything else, the words are held back and Bella looks away.

"Edward!" Bella yells as she runs up the front steps to Edwards house, Her face is flushed, her eyes are bright and she smells of wolf. Edward can tell by the look on her face, that this was the inevitable.
"Edward! I have to… tell you something…"
"You're leaving? I know…"
Edward is silent, as Bella keeps talking.

"Congratulations!" people from the crowd yell as the bride and groom exit the Church,
the clouds in the sky are just enough for Edward to be at the Wedding that day.
He doesn't know why he went, he doesn't know what to say as she walks towards him.
"You came!" she is all smiles and she wraps her arms around him.
But it no longer held such a meaning as it once did. He smiles at her as she pulls away, and the groom walks up beside her. She looks at him one more time as she thanks him and leaves into the crowd of people, heading toward their limousine,
" Bella Wait!" he still doesn't know why he is here. "Bella! I love you! Don't leave me! I need you!"
But just like everything else, Edward is deafened by the silence. He stands there helplessly as she gets into the car and waves at all the happy people. He watches them drive away, leaving him alone.
Apart of him is relieved, for the humanity that came with her choice; she would get everything she deserved, instead of living eternity as a monster.
.And so he walked away from the church, back into an eternity of loneliness, because the one thing Edward Cullen could never do, was to make her stay.
