Author's note: Hello, guys! I'm back with another fanfiction. I actually have some free time today, so I decided to use it up to write. :) This one is about Mika and Yuu, I really like them together and I think they should be together. I planned to make it one shot, but instead, I guess I'll just make it a multi chapter story. I'm so excited to write and I hope that it'll turn out good. So far, I'm happy with this chapter, even though it is short. :D And I just realized that the title for this story should be 'I have always loved you', it fits better than the one I choose, but what's done, it's done. :P

Apologies for any grammar or spelling mistakes and if the characters seem a bit OOC.

The battle with the Demon Army was over, or at least it was over for now. Mika stayed with Yuu, Shinoa and others, after the battle was done. They were planning to go on a journey together. They knew that something else was coming, something much worse that what they have just been through. Mika stayed with Yuu in the cottage, packing the rest of their things they'll be needing for a journey. The plan was to go as far away as possible, thinking of a plan for the next battle along the way. The others were outside, so it was just two of them there, alone.

Mika has always loved you. He cared about him more than he'd ever cared about anyone else. He wanted Yuu to be safe, to be happy, but he also wanted to be with him. After the years of separation, Mika never stopped thinking about him, or searching for him. He wanted to save you from humans, who are going to use him because of what he bared inside, he wanted to save him from being corrupted by them.

The first time they've met, after being separated for four years, he was never happier to see that he was alive and well. Their encounter didn't go well, first he was stabbed the the person he loved the most, then that same person refused to come with him. That person wanted to stay with those evil humans. Yes, he was aware that vampires weren't any better, but he still wanted to have Yuu by his side. They were separated once again. That was the first time Mika cried after so long. He swore that he will get Yuu back next time, he won't fail, he will save him from humans. But Yuu once again didn't want to escape with him, he refused to leave his friends, his new family. Mika hated hearing Yuu call someone else his family, especially those filthy humans. His opinion changed a bit when he realized that they really cared about his best friend. He didn't believe them completely, but he wanted to give them a chance. Once chance, if he sees the smallest indication that they are going to use him, or harm him in any way, he is going to kill them all. Mika will endure being with them, because that meant that he will also have Yuu by his side. That's all that mattered. That's all he really wanted.

"I love you, Yuu. I have always loved you.", Mika said quietly.

He packed the last thing he had in his backpack and looked at Yuu.

Yuu looked at him confused. He didn't know what brought that up.

"I know. I love you, too, Mika.", he said. Of course he loved him, Mika's his family and his best friend.

"You don't understand, Yuu.", after he said that, he exited the cottage.

Yuu was even more confused than before. How is it possible that he doesn't understand? He just didn't get it, what Mika meant by saying that. Yuu exited shortly after Mika had and joined the rest of their small crew. They sat off on their journey.

They were walking for almost whole night, before they decided to stop in the forest and eat something. Exhaustion from the battle and lack of sleep started to get its toll.

"Where are we even going?", Mika asked.

"We don't know yet. I think it would be the best if we go somewhere in the mountains or woods. Find a cave or something like that, it will help us stay hidden. Do you have any suggestions, Mika?", Shinoa asked.

"No, I don't have. I'm fine with you suggestion.", Mika answered.

He got up from his seat and went deeper in the woods. There's no reason for him to stay there while they're eating. He didn't eat any more normal food that all other humans ate. The thing he was craving now was blood. That's his food, that's the only thing that can make his hunger, or better said thirst go away. Mika debated if he should leave them and try find a human, some homeless person, to feed on. His throat was starting to hurt and burn with hunger. He put his hand around his neck, as if that would help his pain lessen. He sat on the ground, leaning his back onto the tree.

"Stop. I just fed two days ago. I must endure it for a bit longer.", he whispered to himself.

Mika closed his eyes and tried to even out his breathing, that was becoming ragged.

'Relax.', he repeated in his mind. 'Don't think about it. Think about something else.'

He heard the rustling of the leaves, cracking of the branches, which indicated that someone was coming.

"Mika?"

It was Yuu.

"Yes?", he opened his eyes, turning his head to the side to look at his friend.

"Why did you leave? You should get to know them better, you'll see that they're good people."

"I just wanted to rest for a while. There will be time to get to know them.", Mika answered.

"Okay.", Yuu said and sat down next to him.

They didn't talk, just listened to the sound of leaves in the wind and each other's breathing. Yuu, being by his side now, was making the situation for Mika worse. He didn't want to drink Yuu's blood again, yet he could remember the sweet taste of it, he could almost smell it. Mika clenched his hands in fists. It was so painful.

'Endure it.'

"Mika, are you alright?", Yuu asked him, noticing how tensed he was.

Mika glared at him.

Yuu thought he recognized the look in his eyes, he was sure, he's seen it once before. Even if he wanted, he was sure he would never forget it. There in Mika's eyes was mixture of pain, thirst, sadness.

"Are you hungry? Now that I think about it, you haven't fed for two days."

"I'm not hungry. I'm just tired.", he answered and got up from the ground, shaking the dirt off of his clothes.

"We should go back to others and keep moving.", Mika stated.

Not waiting for Yuu's answer, he went back to their temporary camp.

Yuu's confusion with his friend's behavior was turning into anger. Mika never acted this way. It looked to him like his was avoiding him. Didn't he always say that they will be together forever, didn't he asked him many time to escape together and that wasn't even long ago? Then why is he acting this way now? What is the reason? Why he has to make this so complicated? Yes, he hadn't seen him for four years, but could it be possible that he changed so much? Yuu growled in frustration, ruffling his hair.

"Stupid, Mika.", he got up and went after Mika.

"Oh, Yuu-chan! We'll be leaving soon, you should pack your stuff.", Yoichi told him.

"Where's Mika?"

"He went to look for a some sort of shelter, somewhere we could stay for the night.", Shinoa said.

"He went alone?"

"Yes, why? He is perfectly capable to take care of himself, if something were to happen."

"I know that."

Yuu knew that Mika would be able to defend himself, but that's not what worried him. It was the thought that he won't come back.

'If that idiot decides to desert us, I don't care, it's his choice! He is acting like a jerk!'

They were all ready to continue going, they were just waiting for Mika to come back. Yuu's irritation grew with each minute that passed. Blond head popped among the trees. It really made him stand out against the darkness.

"Did you find something?", Yoichi asked him.

"Yes. There's a small cottage up the mountain. It will take us about three hours to get there. We should get going before it gets too dark.", Mika informed them.

"Okay. Let's go then!", Yuu jump up from his spot on the ground and started walking in the direction Mika just came from.

"What's with him?", Shinoa asked no one in particular, but since she was looking at Mika, he took that as a question directed at him.

"I don't know.", he shrugged his shoulders.

They followed after Yuu, even though Mika was supposed to me the one leading the way.

"Yuu!", Mika caught up to him. "We are supposed to go left next. Why are you angry?"

"I'm not angry at all.", Yuu said.

"You don't sound like you're not angry.", Mika stated.

"It's nothing, Mika. Sorry. I guess it's because of this whole situation. I shouldn't have turned out this way."

Mika nodded his head in understanding.

"I'm not saying that you should forget what happened, you should be cautious, prepared. You never know what might come next, but try to relax. At least a little bit."

There was his Mika, the one he remember. His face had a soft expression and he could see other's worry and care in his eyes, he could hear it in his voice and it made him feel better. He will be able to relax now that he's friend is back.

"I'll try.", Yuu grinned at him, happiness clear on his face.
