This is a poem I wrote about the Fire Nation raid in the Southern Water Tribe when Katara and Sokka's mother was killed. This is in Katara's POV.
Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar. I do however, own this poem.
"Momma! Momma!"
I yell to the night,
"Momma, where are you?"
She's nowhere in sight.
I see families in a crowd,
looking for those lost,
wanting them back,
no matter what the cost.
I stray from my home
and my heart starts to race
as I look through the crowd
for a familiar face.
I gaze at the bodies
that litter the ground
I just hope my momma
isn't one of those down.
I begin to lose hope
and I start to cry.
Momma's still out there!
Oh, don't let her die!
I hear a sound
and I turn to the right,
a fiery explosion
has now met my sight.
I cover my ears
to muffle the screams.
This can't be happening!
It must be a dream.
I watch as more bodies
fall down to the snow,
this is the worst thing
my young mind would know.
I come to my senses
and run from the fire,
still looking for momma,
the one I desire.
Suddenly my name
I hear through the night,
and then my dad
came right into sight.
Gran-Gran and brother
follow closely behind
"But where is my momma?"
I ask one more time.
They look at me sadly,
the words left unsaid.
But somehow I knew
that momma was dead.
"Momma! Momma!"
I yell to the sky.
"Why'd you take momma?
Why did she die?"
-Sigh- Sad... Anyway, I have this poem posted on another website, so if you happen to find this poem on DeviantArt, it's alright! Just lemme know the person's username just to make sure that it is me! Please review!
