Chapter 1: New Girl in Town
It has been a week since Star rescued Marco after sacrificing her old wand. The two are back at Marco's house safe and sound. The two are in Star's room, looking through Mewni's old books on monsters. Marco had already finished a book.
"Finished with this book, Star," Marco said, "Still nothing on lizard monsters."
"Tell me again why we are reading about monsters," Star said.
"We need to read up on Toffee and why he wanted your wand destroyed. To defeat the enemy, one must know the enemy."
"Why? Toffee got killed in the explosion."
"Star, did you notice the missing finger on his left hand and how he was able to regenerate after you blasted his right arm off?"
"Whaaaaaat? You think Toffee could have that missing finger stored somewhere and is regenerating now?"
Star chuckled, but Marco showed a serious look, making Star realize his answer.
"Let's keep reading then."
Marco and Star are about to look through two new books when they heard honking coming from outside.
Star and Marco go to the window and see a moving van in front of the house next door. Movers are already bringing furniture in.
"Looks like we got new neighbors, Star," Marco said.
A blue minivan drives up and parks behind the moving van. A brunette woman comes out of the car with suitcases, along with a plain, light brown-headed teen girl. Star screeches with glee.
"Look, Marco! A new friend!" Star said.
"Wow!" Marco said.
"Let's take a break and go say hello!"
Star takes Marco by the arm and pulls him away from the window.
The young girl is bringing a box of her things into the house when Star stormed in and surprised her.
"Hi, new friend!" Star said.
The girl screamed a little and dropped her box.
"Sorry about that," Marco said, "Let me get that box for you."
Marco lifts the box and takes it inside.
"Hi. I'm Katie Ford," the girl introduced herself, "What's your name?"
"I am Star Butterfly! Princess of Mewni!"
Star shows her magic by waving her wand and creating a rainbow with flowers. Katie shows a look of awe.
"And that boy who is helping you with your things is my best Earth friend Marco Diaz," Star said.
"What's up, Katie?" Marco said.
"I saw you two when I came out of the car," Katie said, "Do you live here?"
"We live next door," Star said, "So where are you moving from?"
"I just moved from Piedmont, California," Katie said, "My mom got a new job at a science lab in Echo Creek."
"Cool," Marco said, "Need any help getting your stuff in?"
"We could use a few extra hands," Katie said.
Marco, Katie, and Star each take a box into the house when she sees her mom unpacking in the living room.
"Hey, Mom," Katie said, "We have neighbor kids."
"Well, Hello!" her mom said, "I am Dr. Debora Ford, Physicist."
"Marco Diaz and Star Butterfly," Marco said.
"I'm glad you came by to help, Marco. Katie's new room is two doors on the right. Feel free to have snacks as soon as we unpack them."
"Well do, Dr. Ford."
Marco, Star, and Katie head upstairs with the boxes.
Star and Marco got the last of Katie's boxes up to her room.
"How about if I make your room cooler?" Star asked while getting her wand out.
"How?" Katie asked.
"Watch!"
Marco quickly pulled Katie behind some boxes.
"Magic Room Redecorate!" Star hollered.
The room magically transformed into a royal, golden room with Katie's books, clothes, and Knick knacks on shelves, a bed with a veil of diamonds, and silver curtains on her windows. When Katie saw it, she was with awe.
"You truly are a magical princess, Star!" an impressed Katie said.
