In the endless reaches of the multiverse, there are countless alternate histories, things that might have been- but weren't, ranging form the trivial to the Titanic. What if JFK had lived? What if the Lusitania had limped to safety? What if you had decided to have McDonald's for breakfast? Those alternate realities are known as Hypertime, and those is one of those stories.

It was a normal day at Titans Tower, or at least as normal as it ever got at Titans tower. Beast Boy, Kid Flash, and Cyborg were happily ensconced in a wonderland of video games, Raven was helping Doctor Fate with some of his research, Wonder Girl and Superboy were off doing "things", and Starfire was off with the Outsiders. This left Robin, and as Robin was wont to do, he brooded-with just cause.

His on-and-off girlfriend, the Spoiler, had been tortured and killed by Black Mask during his recent takeover of the Gotham underworld, and Captain Boomerang had killed his father, Jack Drake, shortly afterwards. If Robin had not collapsed into a sobbing mass of grief by now, it was only due to Batman's rigid mental training, Nevertheless, he seemed poised to spiral into a morass of despair.

Suddenly, he heard a soft padding behind him. Dropping onto the ledge where he sat, Speedy let her legs dangle off the balcony where he was perched.

"Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Robin?"

"Are you pondering what might have been," Robin replied, with not a little bitterness. Suddenly, a huge explosion hit the building. Robin's hand flew to his communicator, as Speedy's flew to her bow.

"Titans! We have a situation!"

Coughing, Robin brushed her hair back from her face and set her mask back into place. Propping herself back up on her bo staff, she surveyed the location. Titans tower, almost as she remembered it- but where was Per Degaton? Moving over to her least injured teammate, Green Lantern (that power ring was really something), she gently checked him over for injuries.

"Huh? Robin? Where's Degaton?"

"Stay still, Kon. I'm checking for injuries."

"Nevermind. I'm fine, really," said Lantern as he pushed himself off the floor with his power ring. The device, powered by the willpower of the bearer, more than made up for the powers he'd lost when he'd stopped the Cyborg Superman from destroying Coast City. So impressed was Hal Jordan that he'd made the Ex-Superboy a Green Lantern on the spot. And Kon had never looked back.

Kon began to focus, his mind on lifting the rocks that had buried his other companions. A green bulldozer emerged from his ring and began to lift the rocks off of Kid Flash, Speedy, and Wonder Girl.

Wonder Girl began to stir, one hand still clenched around her lasso.

"Where are we?"

"Looks like Titans Tower, but I can't be sure." Hold on.

Kid Flash had a broken arm ("No, Steph, really, I'm fine. A little speed and I'll be good as new."), and Speedy was clean unconscious. Robin was afraid to move her for fear of damage. That was the situation when Superboy and Wonder Girl ("What the hell!" exclaimed Lantern) rushed in.

"Hi Robin I got the call and... What the hell! Robin's a chick again!"
