Chapter 2:
"You do realize you're being stared at, right?"
Annabell turned to her friend Charlette and shook her head, trying to communicate without words that she didn't notice or care. Which was a lie, of course. She was aware of his eyes on her, so much so that she couldn't concentrate on anything else no matter how hard she tried. Honestly, it was like spikes poking at her. Her skin tingled, tiny goosebumps raising on her arms, making her shiver.
"He's kind of cute, you know?" Char laughed at her own description. "No, not cute...he's HOT. And he just can't seem to be able to take his eyes off you."
Annabell opted to ignore her friend as she was fairly certain she couldn't talk without squeaking. Will this class never end? she thought uneasily as she glanced up at the clock for what seemed the thousandth time. All period he'd stared at her, and for the life of her, she could not think of any possible reason for it. It wasn't like she was some great beauty. Sure, she wasn't ugly, but she wasn't beautiful either. She was average. Average skin, average hair, average height. Average.
Char let out a loud sigh beside her, drawing Annabell's attention. "Man, I wish I could find a guy that looks like that. Don't tell Brian I said that, he'd kick my butt into next Tuesday."
"Well, since he is your boyfriend, I think he'll have good reason for it." Annabell said drolly, though she couldn't completely stop the smile from showing. Char just made a face at her and turned to look at the guy again.
It had been a little weird for Annabell, seeing him when she'd walked into class. She hadn't been expecting him to be there, hadn't been expecting to see him anywhere. Though, she should have known better. He didn't look any older then nineteen.
