Zax reunion one shot.
Max was sat on one of the benches outside ED. He had a coffee in his hand and was waiting for Robyn. He got a text on his phone and checked it.
It wasn't anything important so he turned his mind back to the coffee. A few moments later, Max heard someone walk towards him,
"Hi Robyn", Max didn't look up,
"HI", the voice said,
Max froze. Completely still, he knew the voice but wasn't sure on how to respond,
"It's been a while, no word, no text", the voice came and sat next to Max,
"Zoe", Max turned to look at his wife, the face which said, we have been here before,
Zoe tried to speak, but no words would come,
There was a long silence, until Zoe made the move to stand up and walk away,
"Wait", Max darted up,
Zoe turned to look at him, straight in the eye, she knew there was something left of their marriage,
"Max, say something, don't tell me I came all this way for nothing", Zoe didn't want to sound as if she was begging, but it did,
"Do you fancy a drink after work?", Max was being brave, asking her this question,
There was a short time of suspense,
"Yes please, I'm glad you asked", Zoe smiled, fully facing her husband.
"I'll meet you there then", Max out his hands in his pocket, he often did this when he was nervous,
"Yeah. Well I'd better get back, got some stuff to sort with the apartment", Zoe smiled at Max before starting to walk in the direction of her Audi TT which was perfectly parked near the bus shelter near the pub.
Max watched as she walked away, smiling as he looked. Their love was so strong they both knew that there was something there to be retrieved.
