He knew he shouldn't be out here, so far from camp and in the open. But, he couldn't help it. The area around him was completely destroyed, rubble and bodies covered the ground tree branches here and there. Up ahead was a large stone wall which use to be a large building, as he crept closer he can see writing in different colors on it. He let out a shuttered breathe as he stopped, memories replaying in his mind of so long ago. Back before the planet was attacked at their home base, back before when the majority of the team died.

It was what the humans called new years day, and everyone had gathered to celebrate. Red eyes glossed over as he stepped closer to the stone, walking over the rubble and burnt wood. They all decided to write down what they each would wish to do for the new year…..A choked sob left chapped lips as trembling fingers traced the letters.

He wasn't able to fulfill this wishes, he went about it all wrong. Karkat slid down the wall to his knees, as he let the sobs free. Wishing, oh how he wished that he was able to. Able to save them, they deserve what they had gotten. Wishing how he could go back and change it all, to warn them, to do this differently. To have them survived and happy, the game won.
