First fic, flame all you want, please! Set in Kanto, after first season, slightly altered reality in the Pokemon world. I really wanted to read an Inception-Pokemon fic, and there was only 1 other one, so here I am trying to make sure someone gets to read 2!
Ash was tired. He just came back from a looong journey. He missed a lot of what was happening, like movies, music, and video games. He almost felt out of time, like that Captain America. Luckily, his mother got a compilation of some of the newest movies.
One caught his eye. "Inception", it read. The movie was written and directed by Nolan Christopher, the movie visionary of Kanto. He popped it in, and settled down on the couch with some candy. He was surprised by how the movie started, and how you could enter other's dreams. He shared emotions with Cobb, leaving your family behind.
That night, he dreamed of being on the Inception team. He wanted to do what Yusuf did, dream and drive the others around. He wanted to joke around with Eames, learn from Cobb, befriend Ariadne, and become just like Arthur, with the scientificness of Yusuf.
That morning, when he woke up, he was in the warehouse. Not confusion, but joy and surprise seized his body.
"How was your first lesson in dream sharing?", a smiling Arthur said.
"Great! So what's our job?", Ash said, trying to sound like he was supposed to be here.
"I know, it's a lot to remember, but your role is small. Just convince the girl that she's smart, ok? Don't be too charming, just get her to like you, and emphasize her brains."
"What about Eames?"
"He's still sick. Can't forge with a headache, can you?"
"Nope. When is this happening? Where am I staying?", Ash excitedly asked.
"We're doing it here, tonight. After that, we'll drop you back honey, wake up!"
"Arthur?"
"Time for breakfast!"
Ash shot up immediately.
"It was a dream!"
"Yeah, you fulfilled your dreams! You got all 8 badges!", Delia said with excitement.
"I'm going out for a while, be back in 10"
Ash wandered around his house. It seemed so realistic, right until it ended. It seemed he knew he was dreaming, but didn't want to accept it. He stopped, remembering. Then looked at his right wrist. Surely, there were no marks. He sighed and went in for breakfast.
Little did Ash know that on his left hand, there were 2 small puncture wounds, the PASIV IV line type...
And that his mom's had fabricated the dream machine from the movie, and hooked Ash up to it, and that the suitcase was still there, under his bed, waiting to be used again.
