She was beyond emotion,
He left her,
Like he said he wouldn't.
Like she knew he would.
Like she hoped he wouldn't.
Now she was beyond hope.
Beyond happiness,
Beyond sadness and pain.
She had dug an emotionless pit inside herself,
And it was there that she stayed.
She couldn't cry.
She had tried,
But couldn't.
She sobbed,
Tearless,
Emotionless,
Barely alive,
But holding on.
He had left her for another.
Another that was far prettier,
Another who was worth his time,
Another who he loved more than her,
Another who was better for her.
Her life was like a dream.
No. A nightmare,
One from which she couldn't wake.
Or could she?
Riza awoke, her sheets crumpled, her body drenched in a cold sweat. She gave a sigh of relief.
"Thank heavens it was just a dream!" she whispered before getting up to go to work. To see him once again. And to know that she was the one Roy loved.
