As time passes by, it's what you didn't do that you regret the most.

Many looked back as they heard the soft swing-and-shut of a door being closed.

She shifted in her dress, looking into onyx eyes. This was her dream, and everybody she loved was there. She held his hand tight, not wanting that moment to end. There, they stood, in a beautiful place, surrounded by the ones they loved and cared for.

He wept as he stood outside, leaning by the entrance. He had lost something he never had the chance to ever have. He loved everything about her: her green eyes and pastel-pink hair, her monstrous strength, the way she said "Hello" to him every day… He never had the guts to tell her. The day he noticed that ring on her finger, he lost himself.

It isn't him, standing with the one he loves. Not the man who cared for her since they day they met. Instead, she was with the one who caused her the most pain. "God, why?!" he sobbed as his fist made contact with the building. "Damnit, why am I like this?"

She looked out towards everyone and scanned the crowd. Everyone was there, except… She noticed that one of her most important people was missing. "Where's taichou?" she asked herself. Her delicate dress shifted, leaving the sound of rustling fabric and pounding hearts. Her mind played back the reassuring sound of her team captain's voice. He was there this morning, so why was he now the only one missing?

He walked away, back home. The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom; they looked beautiful. He caught a single falling blossom in his hand. Letting out a long sigh, he walked away from the ceremony he didn't even want to attend in the first place and toward the somewhat busy streets of Konoha.

"Teuchi-san, I'll have a bowl." The man never exactly liked ramen, but he always ate with the team. Watching them fight, hearing about their other friends, listening to them laugh together happily…

She let the problem of her missing important person leave her thoughts. 'I'm sure he has better things to do than babysit me,' she concluded unhappily. But this was the moment she's been waiting for since her days at the academy, and he knew it. So why wasn't he there? He knew this was important to her... It's been like a dream since he came back, held her in his arms, and said "I love you" and the long-awaited "I'm sorry, forgive me!"

Her fiancée smirked as she loosened her shoulders and smiled. His parents did like her, after all; if only they were still there to see everything happen concurrently.

The brown-haired shinobi took a sip of his saké. "Did Sakura-chan and Sasuke-kun get wed already?" asked the man behind the counter. Yamato shook his head vigorously, tearing up a little. "Almost..." he replied. He smacked his forehead and ran his fingers through his hair as tears of frustration and regret fell down his face. At the same moment, the one he loved, the one he was in love with, was happy. About to exchanged vows, about to spend the rest of her life with someone she didn't just consider a friend or teammate.

Teuchi sighed and leaned over the counter. It was too often that he saw someone suffering from an unrequited love. But he knew Yamato and his team too well—it was a completely different story.

Yamato bit his lip and tried to keep himself from crying. But he just couldn't bring himself not to.
