A/N: This is based off of my experiences with online dating in college. It was interesting to say the least.
Disclaimer: I don't own Glee.
"Come on, Rachel! I know that you've been thinking about setting one of these up for ages," Kurt groaned as he flopped onto his back on her bed. "And it's the perfect time to try it out! It's summer vacation and God knows you need an actual social life outside of NYADA and working on that musical. And hanging out with your favorite roommate, of course."
She glared at him over her laptop as she looked over the page one more time, but it faded away as she looked back down at the page. "I don't know Kurt…" Her fingers were hovering over the keyboard, hesitant.
He sat up and took her hand, knowing what the tone in her voice meant. "I know that Finn will always have a place in your heart, but don't you think that he would want you to be happy?"
She sighed and nodded, resting her head into the crook of his neck. Kurt moved closer to her and wrapped both arms around her. He wished that there was something more that he could do to take away the pain that would always be there.
He looked back down at the OkCupid page that was open on her browser. It looked like she had started writing about herself, but downplayed everything. "Rachel. I'm surprised that you aren't talking more about yourself! What happened to letting everyone within a 10-mile radius know about your brilliance?"
Rachel pressed her lips into a thin line. "I don't know. I thought that it would come off as arrogant, which I'm pretty sure no guy finds attractive."
Kurt stared at her, incredulous. "Rachel. This is New York. You go to NYADA and you're the star of the first Broadway production of The Last Five Years. You are Cathy Hyatt! You are officially ORIGINATING the role of Cathy on Broadway!" He flapped his arms around wildly.
She giggled. "That's all very tru-hey! What are you doing?"
Kurt gently pushed her over and let his fingers fly over the keyboard, swiftly filling in all of the appropriate sections before pulling back from her computer with a satisfied look on his face. She read all of the sections and was surprised that he made all of the sections sound like she wrote it and talked about her accomplishments in a nonchalant manner that didn't come across as pompous.
"Huh. Pretty impressive."
He rolled his eyes, but smiled. "Did you think I'd write anything less about my best friend?"
"Of course not. So...now what?"
He got up from her bed and wandered over to his room. "I think that we should go get some lunch and take a walk in the park. The weather is gorgeous today! And when we come back, we can sort through all of the messages that'll be flooding in your inbox."
She snorted and got up as well, changing into clothes more appropriate for summer. "Come on. Do you think that I'll have that many messages when we get back?"
He poked his head around the corner and gave her a look. "Rachel. Anyone with a pair of eyes can see that you're a total catch."
