A/N: Game of Life challenge prompts: deluminator, ring, and centaur. Enjoy!

Firenze closed his eyes slowly and yawned. He hated watching over the ring of truth. It was a special ring that seemed to take effect on a centaur and make them tell the truth. It didn't seem to work on humans. Firenze felt himself nodding off, but tried to keep his head up. He groaned. Why did he have to guard over it at night? It might be because the other centaurs had decided he was a bad influence, what with the Harry Potter thing. He couldn't bring himself to stand up for himself. And now it led to this. Firenze laid his head on his arms. How could he not sleep in this darkness. If only he was allowed some light in this cave. It wasn't allowed at night because the ring had to be kept private. Firenze ran his hand over the deluminator, of which there was only a couple in existence. Albus Dumbledore had gotten one from the Centaurs many years ago. He sighed. If only he was allowed to use it. He walked over to the ring and put it on, yelling "I hate this job, you idiotic horse-halfbrids!"
