To enchant with a mere smile,
A mere gaze.
Such power behind those eyes yet you do not know.
So beautiful you are,
Deny it you will,
No matter how many times I tell you.
You enchant me,
Always.
Just a gaze,
A simple glance,
A smile blooms,
Happiness ensues.
Luna smiled down at her work. A poem befitting the wonderful girl who had unknowingly stolen her heart. As she waited for the ink to dry, she gazed about the Common room. It was mostly empty, being, past ten at night. Classes were in the morning... It didn't matter though, she glided out of the room, her parchment rolled up neatly, making a trip to the owlery. The letter would reach Ginny in the morning. A pleasant surprise for the beautiful red head. A secret admirer. Not that she didn't have many a boy drooling after her, quite literally for some of them.
The blond girl smiled after attaching the letter to the owl's leg. She thought, often daydreamed of asking out her pale, red headed love, but as much as they enjoyed each other's company..., she doubted her friend would see her in that light.
In the morning, she sat with her friend, as she had grown accustomed to, watching as her face burned brightly upon the reading of the anonomys letter. The girl glanced about, as if trying to discern who had sent it, everyone was involved in their food though, none even looked up. Luna though, she looked at her friend from the corner of her eye.
"Anything good in the mail?" she asked, smiling as she always did.
Her cheeks flamed once more.
"Just this little poem. It doesn't say who it's from though."
"A secret admirer perhaps?"
Ginny said nothing more, returning to her food, her face still bright pink. Luna just smiled on, finishing her breakfast as well.
Perhaps..., perhaps she could ask her friend. Hypothetically of course.
She did just that when they went to study in the library that evening.
"Ginny..., hypothetically if say a girl were to ask you upon a date, what would your reaction be?"
Ginny looked startled, her face flaming once more.
"I... I don't know Luna. Let's just focus upon our homework, shall we?"
The red head dodged her question, immersing herself in her work. Luna smiled a knowing smile and left it at that. Another idea already firmly in her mind.
As they walked to the Gryffindor portrait, Luna set her next plan in motion. She walked closer than strictly necessary to Ginny, noticing the blush that crept up her chest to her face. They stopped a few pictures down from the Fat Lady.
Ginny turned to her pale, blond friend. A question in her eyes, the answer in Luna's lips.
It was swift, lasting mere seconds but feeling like an eternity. Pale warm lips upon her own rosebud pink, a kiss that was so short and sweet, but so very meaningful. A smile and dreamy eyes, as the shorter girl glided away, the red head blushing madly, her hand upon her lips, a smile beginning to form.
