he didn't really have a place in the world.
he wasn't meant to have one.
he wasn't supposed to be alive.
well, if that's what you called someone like him.
he was breathing. there was blood running through his veins, blood that had been spilt in many battles.
but he wasn't alive. that's crazy talk.
if he was truly alive, he wouldn't feel like this. he wouldn't feel trapped in that little corner of his mind. he wouldn't feel alone. he wouldn't be causing himself pain, clutching his head so hard that he got a headache because he couldn't get those voices to shut the hell up.
in a sense, he was like a zombie. in reality, he was a nobody.
but he had a reason to keep breathing.
that girl. you see her there?
she wears the same outfit every single day.
she's quite strange, just like her drawings.
she hardly ever talks and her blue eyes are a bit too big for her face.
her hair lays on one shoulder because it's always a bit messy and she can't be bothered with it.
but she's there. she exists along with him.
he's not as broken as she is, of course. she's fragile, easy to pick on.
that's exactly why he "lives", to protect her. he'll do anything.
she's the only thing that matters.
"because you live, girl my world has twice as many stars in the sky."
a/n: ... yep. my first attempt at writing an actual couple. i don't really like it though. i might rewrite it at some point.
no, this was not inspired by that jesse mccartney song.
i was in a shitty mood, started writing, it ended up with me adding namine to it, and the song seemed to fit.
and we all know how much i love adding song lyrics into my stories.
