Burst of Life
The time was upon me to make a choice, to live and die slowly or a quick death that held honor and admiration. My name will be remembered at last with some reverence. I took a big breath and ran towards sweet death.
Five Hours Ago
It was the same old arguments with Yuuri. He could not accept the fact that our engagement was final. He argued about homosexuality. A concept that was foreign for me. Love was love just as duty, honor and responsibility were. Our contract was binding and many waited the joyous occasion.
Yet still he denied me the right he had imposed on me when he proposed. I counted the days and there were many angry and painful memories since. But I hoped for the day when he would at least accept the event without disgust and reproach.
So when we found ourselves again in one of his save-the-humans-from-evil missions, I sighed tiredly. Our traveling had been slow and complications had piled up one after another. Bad luck seemed to be on our side, perhaps it was because we had to save the humans yet again.
We tried telling Yuuri that we were walking into a trap, yet he refused to listen. I watched with fear as he stood his ground in believing that everyone deserved a second chance. He couldn't be moved and I both hated him and loved him for it.
When we saw them coming we weren't surprised. Lord Weller, Hube and I made a ring of steel around Yuuri. There were so many, I protected Yuuri while Lord Weller and Hube ran cutting a path for us to run.
At the last second when it seemed we would make it, more joined the first group. Hube was ahead, Yuuri was followed closely by Lord Weller who protected his right and I protected Yuuri's left. There could be one way of saving our king.
Before Lord Weller could make that decision I took it upon myself to enforce it. For I rather die for love than to die loving a fool who would never love me back. I stopped running and turned my back. With a calmness that overpowered my fear. I would save Yuuri. I ignored the yells from my companions as I ran towards the enemy. I plunged into death, and then I knew no more.
