cho needs to shop at gladrags and marietta, being her best friend, tags along to assist in shopping. they've gotten dress robes and cho's trying on dresses.
"how does this look?" cho asks as she exits the dressing room, a dark blue dress with a sash around the waist. cho is stunning, and something marietta doesn't understand flutters in her stomach. "do you think cedric will notice me if i wear this to the next hogsmeade day?"
something hurts in marietta's chest, and she can't rationalize why it feels like her heart just dropped into her stomach acid, now starting to dissolve.
marietta tries to logic it out, tries to deny the facts as cho spins but marietta soaks up her curves and feels horrible about it.
"yeah," marietta swallws the guilt and the pink of her cheeks. "of course he will."
cho can never find out about her enamourment. she can't.
