Hello, and welcome to my first Zelda story. I hope you like it. Also, I do not own the Legend of Zelda series. It rightfully belongs to Nintendo.

Prologue

Prophecy

No POV

The Realm of the Gods resembled a night in Hyrule. It was still and dark, for it was the night of a new moon. Only tiny pinpricks of light from the stars shone through the grand windows of the goddess' palace. Although the glorious castle had hundreds, if not thousands of rooms, only one was occupied. This room had no windows but light emanated from the liquid in a bowl with intricate carvings etched over most of its surface. The three inhabitants of the palace stood around this scrying pool through which they observed the sleeping Kakariko Village.

"The time is drawing near," one of the three said solemnly, her voice shattering the silence. The speaker looked to be a woman with hair as green as the leaves on the Great Deku Tree.

"Yes, Farore," the second of the three murmured. Her hair matched the clean, blue waters of Lake Hylia. "The prophecy will come to pass soon. We must alert her." As she said the word, her, her hand glided over the image of the village in the pool. Gradually, the image blurred and refocused until it showed the face of a young girl of sixteen years.

"Are you sure she's the one, Nayru?" The third—and last—of the women sounded doubtful. Her hair resembled the fiery lava churning inside Death Mountain. "She looks rather…small."

Nayru nodded. "She has the center Triforce—the power of Hope associated with our sister, the fourth goddess.

"And, the prophecy says that she is courageous, wise, and powerful," Farore added. "Not to mention she will be aided by the Hero of Time and the princess of Hyrule. Don't worry, Din, she'll be fine."

"What about us?" Din asked. "Can't we help her?"

Nayru shook her head sadly.

"Well, why not?" Din demanded hotly.

"We are not permitted to interfere—not this time. It was how our sister wished it to be the day she disappeared," Nayru replied calmly, obviously used to Din's flaming temper.

Farore's face shrouded over with concern. "If we can't interfere, then how is she supposed to learn about the role she will have to play?" she inquired.

"We shall send word to her through Impa, the Sage of Shadows," Nayru said absently. Her attention was fixed on the girl in the scrying pool. "Be ready, child. The fate of Hyrule's fourth goddess rests on your shoulders."
