I needed to write some Tikku before I wrote an Aurikku request - to cleanse my mind, etc. Yes, it's short. It's meant to be.
Keeping with the way no-one says Tidus' name, he'll just be known as 'him'.
I do not own Final Fantasy.

Rikku's slim fingers traced small pictures in the sand. Smiling faces and love hearts that collapsed the moment her finger left them. The water lapped lightly at her feet, soaking the tips of her soft boots.
She remembered all the things he had told her had happened to him after she lost him. He exaggerated a little of course, but that was just like him.

She knew he had woken up here, on this very beach. Rikku placed her hand on the sand and pressed against it. She imagined him washing up here, coughing up salty water.
Her hand groped at empty air as she thought of herself rubbing his head lightly, comforting him. Yunie was better at that kind of thing, but it couldn't hurt to try being gentle.

Him stirring under her hands..
A tear caressed her cheek on its way down from her wide green eyes. He loved her eyes - the swirls he said he could get lost in, the thin lashes.. He loved her for who she was.
And when she saw him again, he'd love her even more. Maybe she could grow her hair a little to look older. She would see him again, Rikku knew it. Even when he was slowly disappearing before her eyes.

Until then, she could close those eyes and dream. Dream of his tanned hands stroking her chin, a smile erupting on his face.
Dream of them together.
