Find the Will
Edward's Point of View
"Find the will to stop, Edward," Carlisle was saying calmly. The blood was like nothing I had ever tasted. My mind was at war with my heart. I was caught between my nature and my love for the girl that was lying here, dying because of me.
"You can do it, my son," he continued but I could here the doubt in his thoughts.
Bella's lips parted slightly in unconsciousness. "Edward," she whispered, her voice barely a breathe.
I froze. At that moment of weakness, I managed to wrench my mouth away from her arm. Before Carlisle could respond, I was on my feet. I ran across the room until the scent of her blood was almost completely masked by the scent of James burning nearby. My back was to Bella. I was stiff and my hand was covering my mouth and nose. If it were possible, tears would be flowing down my cheeks. My eyes pricked from the tears that weren't there.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. Wrenching myself from Alice's grasp, I ran out of the studio. I ran for an hour before I stopped. The taste of her blood was forever burned into my memory. It took all of my will power not to run back there and drink the rest. My entire body was shaking.
The phone in my pocket vibrated. I glanced at the caller I.D. and saw it was Alice. I ignored the call. She left a voice mail.
"Edward, she's in the hospital. She'll be fine."
This has been sitting untouched since opening weekend-ish of Twilight. I give up trying to get any farther so, here it is. If you're going to flame me, don't. Yes this is short but you flamers must have something better to do than dis everyone else to make your sorry selves feel better and make us feel sad.
