Chapter 1-Johnny Meets Lilly
Johnny was walking his best friend, Ponyboy, and his girlfriend, Cherry Valance, home to his house. As soon as he dropped him off, Johnny went to the lot. But when he got there, he saw a girl crying. Out of curiosity, he went to the girl to see what was wrong with her. "Are you ok?" Johnny asked her. And as she looked up to see who was talking to her, Johnny saw that there were bruises and scars on her face. "What happened to you?" Johnny asked her, in shock. "My parents were beating on me." she said, very scared like. "Don't worry. My parents beat on me all the time. I'm sorry to hear about what your parents do to you." he said, trying to comfort her. "It's ok. At least I know someone who has been through the things that I've been through." she said, while she stared into his big brown eyes and he was staring into her big green eyes. "I'm Lilly Elizabeth." she said, her voice sounding angelic. "I'm Johnny Cade." he said, lovingly. "The Johnny Cade?" she asked him, surprised. "Yeah." Johnny replied. "You are the one who saved those kids from the burning church!" "Yeah. Ponyboy, Dallas, and I." "I have always wanted to meet you all my life." she said, her voice sounding like she was very excited. "Well, now you are." he replied to her. Lilly giggled. "Do you want to hang out with me?" he asked her, hoping that she would say yes. "Sure, I would love to hang out with you, Johnny Cade." she said, with love. Just then, Ponyboy found Johnny at the lot, sitting right next to Lilly. "Hey Johnny." he said to Johnny. "Who is this?" he added. "Hi Pony, this is Lilly. Lilly, this is Ponyboy Curtis. He also saved the little kid from the burning church." "I always wanted to meet you too." she said, very excitedly. "Well, we are going some where to hang out." Johnny told him. "Why don't you two come and hang out at my house." Ponyboy said to Johnny. "Is it alright with you?" Johnny asked her. "Sure." she said. "Lets go and hang out." Ponyboy said, out loud. And then, the three of them went to Ponyboy's house to hang out. Ponyboy was right behind Johnny and Lilly. But, Johnny and Lilly's hands slowly came attached to the other. Then, Ponyboy let out a soft "aww" for the couple.
