It has been one month, one long, brutal month since the battle of 'The Ark', and things were relatively getting back to normal; relatively.
Jack Cooper, one of the most famous and fearless pilots of the Frontier Militia, currently laid in his bed in his private bedroom, staring at the dark ceiling. He couldn't rest, let alone sleep, otherwise the nightmares would return. Well, that and the sounds of loud music and cheering from the mess hall of the base would keep the heaviest of sleepers awake.
You see, their was a party going on in honor of Cooper, and in memory of BT. Everyone was there, pilots, riflemen, grunts, Titans, and even the 6-4 were their to celebrate, and get absolutely shit-faced. Sadly, it took just about everyone to convince him to come, even for a moment. So, that's what he did. Stay for exactly one minute, chugged a bottle of beer, and went back to his room to be alone. That's all he considered himself since he lost BT.
They were friends, partners, hell, he thought of BT as a brother. A gigantic, robotic brother that he could climb inside, but a brother nonetheless. It felt like apart of him was gone, especially since Briggs had his neural link with BT destroyed, and sat him up with a new one. A female Legion Titan, named SD-0719. While she was nice, powerful, and held more human emotion than BT, nothing could ever replace him. No Titan could ever brake their bond.
Although, she could get a bit annoying. Instead of being crazy and willing to do just about anything to uphold the mission, she was much more protective with Jack, and took 'Protocol 3' to a whole new level, not to say BT didn't enforce 'Protocol 3' as much as possible, she just wouldn't do anything he would've. Like throw Copper for example. Jack had to order her to let him out of the cockpit in order to do some unorthodox method to finish the mission, which she scowled him for later on. She's annoying, Briggs was annoying, even who asked if he were alright was annoying, everyone was annoying.
He was struggling to stay a pilot, like how he was struggling to stay wake. The dark room was hypnotic, the beer was getting to him, and he found his eyes fluttering shut. Soon, he would be welcomed by the nightmares that have been plaguing his mind for the past month, and there was nothing he could do to prevent it.
