A/NHi all! This is my first time writing a Narnia thing (and my first fan fiction)and Narnia is, like, my favorite book/movie EVER, so I hope you like it!Edmund is the character I relate to, and understand the most, so I decided to start with a fanfic on him. Please leave a review, I would really appreciate it... Thanks! (One shot) For the record, I do not own Narnia. Not the books, not the movies. Wish I did, but I don't.
"Stop! Leave me alone! I didn't do anything wrong!" Edmund said as the White Witch approached holding the Stone Knife, the same knife that killed Alsan at the Stone Table. Edmund didn't know how he knew this, but he did, and it sent a chill up his spine,"Go away- you're dead!"
"You could never kill me! I'll always be alive in your mind, silly boy!" The witch declared, laughing harshly.
"No!" Edmund shouted, just as the knife was thrust.
Edmund sat up in his bed at Cair Paravel, he'd had the same dream night after night, for weeks... a dream with words that would likely haunt him for years to come. He could never tell his brother and sisters, surely they would not understand. They didn't
/know what it was like for him with the White Witch, what it was like for the witch to come demanding his blood. They didn't know how afraid he was that she would take him, how awful it was to watch Jadis eyes bore into him, like they knew his thoughts.
/They didn't know how terrible it was to be a traitor to your family, to Narnia, and to Aslan. They didn't know how guilty he was to find out that the great Lion had died in his place, after he had mocked him and spurned him, and betrayed him. He still
/felt these things even years later. And with those those thoughts Edmund collapsed on the bed; he had not even realized he had gotten up. He finally succumbed to tears, and he lay sobbing on the bed for what felt like hours. When he finally sat up,
/he was not alone. Lucy had come into his room, likely having heard him in his despair. "Edmund? What's wrong?" Lucy was 14 now, and Edmund's best friend. He knew he had to tell someone, so he decided to tell her.
"Oh, Lucy. Why did Aslan take my place? I'm the one that deserves to die... not him. Why did he help me? Why didn't he let me die?" And with that, Edmund started sobbing quietly. Lucy smiled at him softly, and rubbed his back until his tears subsided.
/Then she put her arm around him, and said."Edmund, I don't know why Aslan took your place, but I do know this. You do not deserve to die. You are a good person. You just made a mistake. The witch was the onethat deserved to die. Not you. You
are a wonderful king, and your people love you. Aslan believes in you, and so do Susan and Peter, and I. Never forget that." Lucy hugged Edmund and headed back to her room before Peter or Susan woke. After muttering a prayer to Aslan, Edmund drifted
/off to sleep.
