This came to mind just today I want to jot it down before I forgot.

(This takes place years after Clemont and Serena get married. They have several children, this fic involves their oldest.)

Hi, my name is Samantha Brown. I'm the oldest child of Clemont and Serena Brown. My parents are pretty famous. My dad is the Lumiose City Gym Leader, my mom is a famous Pokemon Performer and Coordinator.

I have quite the job here. I'm a full-time volunteer at the Kalos Bat Pokemon Clinic. And I'm about to take you on a tour of the clinic.

Here we take in sick, injured and orphaned bat Pokemon and nurse them back to health.

We take in adults and pups from all bat Pokemon species.

We take care of a lot of orphaned Zubat, Woobat and Noibat pups. There are many reasons they get orphaned. One of the most common is extreme heat events killing their mothers.

We hand raise the orphans by feeding them specialized milk formulas. We make the pups feel loved by wrapping them in blankets and giving them dummy pacifiers.

Here's a bunch of pups wrapped in blankets right here. Aren't they the cutest things?

Once the pups are old enough, we give them food according to what species they are. Zubat feed on mammal Pokemon blood and Bug-types, and Woobat and Noibat eat fruit, they will occasionally eat bugs too.

We take in a lot of adult bat Pokemon too. There are males and females. A number of our female Golbat and Crobat are either pregnant or are already raising Zubat pups.

We also have female Swoobat that are pregnant or raising Woobat pups, and Noivern that are pregnant or raising Noibat pups.

We have lots of volunteers working around the clock helping run this clinic.

Oh, and we have an on-site guano processing facility. We have trained professionals who collect the dung our bat Pokemon make and turn it into valuable fertilizer, which we also sell on-site. Remember, when bat Pokemon gotta go, they gotta go.

If this facility didn't exist, lots of bat Pokemon specimen wouldn't have a chance at life. We are funded solely by donations, and we do get a lot of them. Bat Pokemon are really great creatures, and their pups are really cute.

Next time you see a bat Pokemon, think of us!

This drabble is inspired by the various bat hospitals that exist to care for bats across the world, in particular the Australian Bat Clinic and the Tolga Bat Hospital in Australia. Bats are the only mammals truly capable of flight, and these facilities help rehab specimen who are down but not out. They are run by volunteers entirely on donations.
