In the Vampire Diaries Universe, After Season 6, everything is fine in Mystic Falls. Alaric and Caroline are together with their children, but they aren't the main couple and will hardly appear here. Elena is a vampire still. Damon is with Bonnie, but they will hardly appear in here.

Elijah and Hayley are shackling Genevieve in one of the tombs, angrily snapping the shackles around her wrists. Hayley continues to glare at her and quickly punches her. Furious tears were in her eyes when she asked, "Why?"

Genevieve was crying as she said, "The ancestors left me no choice -"

"You were willing to sacrifice an innocent baby for more power?" Hayley cut off with a growl, her eyes glowing slightly.

"No, not just power! It was the ancestors' decree. It was her decree."

Elijah grabs Genevieve roughly by the face and forces her to look at him. "It was whose decree?"

"I'm surprised you have to ask." She laughs weakly, shaking her head before looking him in the eye. "After all, you were the one who convinced your siblings to consecrate her on New Orleans soil."

Elijah lets go of her, disgusted, as he realizes who she's talking about. His mother, the woman who wants to kill all her children that she deems "abominations".

Hayley's eyes widen as she whispers, "Esther."

"So, not even death can stop my mother from seeking the annihilation of her own flesh and blood," Elijah says, shaking his head and runs his hand through his hair.

Genevieve begins to panic as she knows this is near her end. "This isn't the end! As long as that child and your children lives-"

In a flash, Elijah has her by her throat and lifts her in the air. "What do you mean by "your children"?"

She begins to chuckle as he lets her go and says, "You remember your lover, Katie Benson in the early nineties? Yeah, she's cursed as well. Too bad she found out too late. She had triplets thanks to you. Esther wants to kill them the most!"

Elijah shook his head as Hayley was speechless. "That's impossible..."

"What curse does she have?" Hayley asked, worried for Elijah.

"On the night of the full moon, she is able to get pregnant immediately after intercourse. No matter the creature. It's been in her family line for years to keep the line going. Plus, her great great great grandma pissed off the wrong witch... the witches of New Orleans will never stop coming for that baby and those children..." She quickly starts to cry, blood dripping from her eyes. "Esther will never stop coming for it. It has been decreed - your baby will be consecrated among her ancestors. They will not live."

Hayley and Elijah glare at her, still processing the new information. Genevieve starts sobbing as she says, "They're coming for me, I can feel it. I failed them. Understand - I just wanted to live. Tell Klaus... I'm sorry." She starts to choke up blood. Hayley watches her for a moment before sighing and stabbing her in the stomach with the athame and cutting her abdomen open. Elijah looks to the ground, trying to get his head wrapped around the idea that he could be a father to three children.

"I'm not." Hayley then drops the athame and walks out of the tomb with Elijah following her.

"What? And you believe this woman?"

"I have no idea if what she says is the truth or not, but I have to find out the truth," Elijah says as he looks at Klaus. His brother shakes his head and sighs.

"You aren't doing this foolish thing alone."
