The Pact

Diana slumped down against the wall of her cell and sighed heavily.

It wasn't the Elders that caused her the heartache this time. Even after she proved the Lunari had co-existed with the Solari.

In fact, she didn't care much about finding the armor with moon sigils nor the crescent blade. It wasn't important compared to some other things.

Leaning her head back, Diana looked out the prison window and stared at the Moon.

She admired its beauty. It was round and glowing even brighter than the Sun. It was everything she wanted to be, perfect and respected by all.

Diana shifted over to the window, allowing the moonlight to bathe her wounded body. It was times like these where she could think clearly, with only the Moon listening to her thoughts.

Diana hovered her hands over her bruises and closed her eyes. The Solari was cruel with their punishments, but she would do anything for them to listen to what she had to say.

"I have witnessed your pain for years, but this time you are in more peril than usual."

Diana opened her eyes and felt cold all of a sudden. The room had a dark presence lingering.

Diana stood up, calling out to the shadows, "Who are you? What do you want from me?"

"We are Kalista, The Spears of Vengeance. Like the rest of us, we can feel the anger residing inside of you."

Diana's eyes widened as she watched a faint green mist surround her. She tried to back up against the wall as far as possible.

As the mist took form of a ghost-like lady, Diana hugged herself, trying to stop herself from shaking in fear.

Kalista walked a step toward Diana and held Diana's face in her hands. "These scars and bruises show the pain you endure. We can aid your cause."

"Are you going to kill me off?" Diana whispered. "Is this the elders' final punishment?"

"What a poor soul you are." Kalista said. "We are here to bring justice to wrongdoing and betrayal. You are not the one we want. However, we watched what she did to you."

Diana gulped and tried to hold back her tears. It wasn't okay if someone else talked about Leona.

"It was her responsiblity to aid you, to protect you, instead of deciding to torture you. We watched her deny about finding the Lunari Temple with you." Kalista said sternly.

Diana let out a sigh, perhaps showing her relief. This was the first time someone-or perhaps something- listened to her.

"I can bring justice to her, if that is what you desire." Kalista said cooly

Diana gasped and spoke quickly, "Don't you dare hurt her. She was just following the Solari laws!

S-she had to, or she would not be the Radiant Dawn anymore!"

No matter what, Diana would never hurt her childhood friend, even if Leona had to kill her.

Leona would listen to her.

Wouldn't she?

Kalista sneered and summoned a spear into her hands. "Why do you lie to yourself like so? The fury emanating inside your heart proves you are angered by her decisions."

"She was doing whatever she could!" Diana retorted.

"The Morning Sun seems to have blinded you as well. We promise you will be left satisfied if you pledge to us." Kalista said with no emotion.

Kalista held the spear in front of Diana, "This is a Black Spear. If you accept The Pact with us and penetrate it through your heart, we will give Leona what she deserves."

Diana stared at Kalista and simply said, "No."

Kalista's eyes widened in bewilderment. It was rare for someone to refuse her assistance.

Diana looked at the Moon once again and said, "I have already pledged myself to the Moon, and I do not need the help of the spirits to get what I want."

"As you wish, Heretic." Kalista said coldly.

When Diana turned around, Kalista was gone and it was as if nothing had happened.

It was a shame no one ever listened to Diana.
