Darkness.

For Roy, that's all there was. He walked in the darkness. Even when he felt the warmth of the sun on his skin as Hayate, or Riza led him through the street, he was surrounded by darkness.

It wasn't until he lay down to sleep at night, was he able to see the light. The door might have taken his sight while he was awake, but not when he drifts into dreamland.

When he sleeps, it always starts out as he opening his eyes. The sun is so bright, he must shield his eyes. Everything is more vibrant than they were before. The people are more vibrant. Outside his dream world, he has come to know to smile in his college's voices, but, here, away from the harsh reality, he sees their smiles.

But, like every day, every night comes to an end and with the sound of his alarm, the night ends. He fumbles to find the ringing bastard, wipes the tears out of his dead eyes, and prepares to meet the darkness again.

Until the next night.
