Justice was weak.
Fragile, really. Without meaning, corrupt in every way. Justice could not be upheld, not without the strength to do so, and such a subjective thing was hardly safe in the hands of the people that could actually do something about it.
And he'd explained this to her, again and again in layman's terms so she – so much defiance, so little understanding – could comprehend what he was trying to say, but she never quite got it. "This is the way of my people," she'd say, "we fight for justice."
He watched her die in a field of flowers that justice had demanded she protect, and learned that strength was nothing without conviction.
Justice was weak, but Wufei was not. And so the ending began.
